Hmm, I've done a fair bit of asking around on this. I've already told some people that it's fine if they want. Getting rid of it because of costing and the like isn't really in the spirit of F1 but at the same time, there's no point having a benchmark where only a couple of people are competitive.
THe thing that's REALLY nailed it for me is the danger element. LHe is very dangerous indeed. Not so much because it's cold, but because of the air displacement. I've seen a lot of pictures of a lot of labs and I don't want any suffocating when all the air is sucked out of their lab when spilled. That alone is reason not to have it, frankly.
Maybe one day when all competitors have shown that they can easily access it and handle it. Most 'regular' people have their doubts about Health and Safety and LN2. But all top competition overclockers have mastered that.
So it's a NO to LHe.
