Makes sense that they drop Elpida, but what will happen to Customers who already have Elpida sets if they fail after the production stop? will they receive some of the "faulty" elpida stuff that has been recalled, or some replacement product? (insane binned samsung stuff or whatever).

As you guys know, kingston has also been using these in their high performance memory as well and states that customers who experience problems with the memory that may be related to this situation should contact Kingston's technical support for any support.

Sounds just like the Crucial Ballistix I had (the single sided modules). Went through two RMAs on those until I got some that didn't die.

Luckily my double sided ones worked all the way through.

there is nothing on the market that can clock that high as 1.65v

if there is it would be a dead easy changeover to all manufacturers

Glad to see corsair starting to move on it.

There is nothing that produces it but a "what just happened" spoof. Seriously though, it just random fails with no warning. A stick of mine died on boot,, never over-volted or overclocked.

And i really like my Kingston Hyper X T1's, though the heatsinks was way too tall imo though.

Sounds like the lovely issue why I won't buy Crucial anymore. To many dead sticks, and don't want to screw around with them.

I think mushkin did the same thing. The most expensive of mushkins lines which are likely elpida hypers are no longer available.

I totally missed this thread, Are all hyper's affected, or just DDr3's? I just grabbed some kingston hyper X ddr2 667 4-4-4-12's for my notebook?

Nope mate, the problematic rams are Elpida Hyper IC based, so not all HyperX rams are involved as not all are Elpida based IC's on the Dimms
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
