There's that, and me not asking Unwinder for permission to use RivaTuner.

well I guess its kind of a moral thing but at the same time if you are just making it easier to use a function rivatuner already has I don't see the problem.

Sounds like Unwinder getting pressure from EVGA?

It automatically detected the Load setting and I could set 1.2875v (my default was 1.2625).
I gave furmark a ran in fullscreen while GPU-Z 0.34 was loggin in the background and it a showed the voltage during load jumped to 1.2875, for both cores

I am adding it to my arsenal of my OC weapons

AgentGOD - maybe add an advanced high voltage tab with a warning.

well that's a bullsh1t answer, quit being lazy and code the stupid program to work.

    hahahah just kidding man.

i figured the card didnt support voltage adjustments. (just my luck)

any chance it works with an 8800 GTX ?

Ok, it seems that Guru3D has changed their verdict and decided to let this tool exist. But they emphasize again that it will be solely the responsibility of the user should any damages occur to his or her card(s) and not the author of RivaTuner's as a result of higher voltage/heat.

Why should guru3d have any say about your program? Rivatuner is a publicly released program. Anyone can code a GUI to walk users through the voltage modification... I dont see the problem?

Oh by the way, the owner of Guru3D (which as you all know is the official host of RivaTuner) has asked me to take down the link to the utility for user safety reasons (prevention of people setting 1.6v on stock cooling and killing their cards).

What do you guys think? We should have a vote on this.
Well, personally OCing is not Noobs. Anyway how many times we hear a noob abuses the tweaking software thus screwing up their hardware then ask for help or attempted a volt mod on his/her hardware (gfx) without fully understanding the guide or risk thus screwing it and then cry for help???

IMO OCing comes with risk, all those who download the OC tweak should jolly well understand that. IF they abuse it and screw their card they are asking for it. No Pity is deserved unless it screwed due to a bug in a tweak.

I have tried the heatsink mod and vGPU mod to 1.4V and run 3dmark06, the highest temperature reached 67C with air temperature at 28C
If using a stock cooler with stock voltage of galaxy (~1.23V) the GPU temperature will easily get higher than 80C. So I think it is too dangerous to mod the vGPU to 1.6V on stock cooling.

there are some people that are on water or ln2 that would benefit from those voltages.

    Updated to v1.2!
    - Added user protection to disallow voltages > 1.45v
    - Added advanced settings menu (right-click voltage drop-down) for disabling
confirmation dialogs and unlocking higher voltages
    - RivaTuner detection is now more efficient

I think it's because most people are either very software sided (pure programmers) or very hardware sided (enthusiasts like yourselves). I consider myself to be part of both since I enjoy programming as well as PC hardware. And of course, you can't forget PC gaming
