Naa its not what he mean...

If you look on the CoreTemp screen here.. you can see Tj Max/TCase that is what he mean.

If I remember right then the L3 on i7 runs at the same clock as the cpu.
On Phenom the L3 cache runs on it's own clock
Naa it much like Amd if i dont have wrong.. you can see diffrent NB/IMC and cpu clocks on screen down here... NB/IMC on Phenom II likes same voltage like the vcore..i use abit less.. 1.4v @ 2600mhz NB/IMC 24/7 , with LN2 1.6v+ is not a problem for the NB/IMC and 4000mhz+

Sry for Intel screen , and sry for borrow "PcCI2iminal"

I now can't say much but you'll be seeing these chips pop up in the next month or so all across the globe. I may or may not receive silicon depending on what my editor decides but if I do I'll get as much info for us as possible. This is a real chip and I imagine the Finnish/Norwegian/Viking guys have a tray of them

mmmmmm trays of cherry picked CPU's I may have to go to chew's place and kill my 955 on ln2 sooner than I expected, that way I can pick one of these up

If these are going to released to only top overclockers. This is extremely dirty of AMD marketing department. I have seen in other forums, where people see 7 ghz in a new headline and expect 5 ghz on water going to be easy when 4 ghz is going to be a battle. Phenom II overclocking ability under conventional means compared to extreme cooling is so deceptive that the marketing team can work miracles.

I see AMD overclocking 6xxx mhz headlines alot more than intels, and yet they reflect nothing of reality to the average consumer. Atleast Dr Who chips are somewhat close to reality and show a core i7 reaching 5.0ghz on air, which is actually somewhat the case because core i7 do overclock well on air(well in terms of percent increase over stock). Most phenom II black I have seen go to 3.8 ghz, thats a .6 to .8 ghz overclock. Not bad, but thats only 20%-26%. But nothing that reflects the liquid helium results of 6.6ghz or 120%. Compare this with core i7 965 which hits 4.3 ghz on air and 5.3 ghz on extreme cooling, its not nearly as deceptive.

Heck if these do get released to the public, unless the person is cooling with phase, what's a high leakage chip going to get them, extra speed? No. More heat? yes. To the average comsumer if these are the same model's being given to extreme overclockers, these will be Phenom II x4 Red edition meaning extra hot.

But people will forgive them for these marketing tactics because they are AMD and they are the underdog. This isn't about Intel vs AMD, this is about deceptiving marketing of selling something to the consumer that they are not really getting.

You do marketing of what you have, Amd has chips that clock well on low temps --> they market that as a good thing, they never say you are going to get 5ghz on air. Don't like it.. try a 6ghz run çwith I7 and promote that MMkkayy ?

But people make the same complaints about nvidia marketing department.

Do you think the (people who don't use ln2)public cares about low temp overclocking. No, not at all. They however translate results like the above thinking ln2 overclocking translate to better overclocking using normal methods. This is generally the case so this is justified. However Phenom II shatters this.

The ln2 market is so small(and thus unprofitable) and tech savvy, i doubt they are advertising like this purely to get more ln2 people on board. This is definitely for the general public.

LN2 results are general publicity. Like all other over-the-top publicity events they are aimed at generating buzz about the product. If people are talking about your product due to something awesome that happened with it, they are thinking about your product. These benchmarks probably won't generate a direct "I want to buy this to overclock" sale, but they will get people thinking about the chips and encourage people to exercise all three options (PHII, C2Q, Ci7) rather than just focusing on Intel products.

Is possible any review as Bjorn3D, insideHW etc? Im interrest too for AIR limit, not only LN2 and LHe. Maybe this chip will be some as old FX? High price, good extreme OC limit?

There will be air results. Now all review sites use ln2 regularly. I know legitreviews will have air, dice, and ln2.

Now it’s Monday in Denmark, and I can’t wait for them to post some results for the TWKR.
Actually I’m waiting for AMD to ship me my own TWKR (or at least that’s what I guess I won)

Um...he's the Maingear CEO. Maingear is where the photos first originated from? Sooo...I'm guessing he's legit.

What I can tell you is that the TWKR chip does OC beyond the limits of the 955 BE cpu. Unfortunately, that is also all I can tell you about it. For our test system we’re using the ASUS Crosshair III board and 4GB of Kingston KHX-12800D3K2/4G with a CoolIT Domino A.L.C. cooling unit. I will be giving away one of these special TWKR CPUs to a very lucky winner. Please check back often for instructions on how to enter to win.
