Hi, D0BR0 ! Greetings from Ukraine Your project looks very promising I saw it for the first time on PurePC and from that time I'm always loooking forward for your updates Keep this going !
P.S. How's your P6T6 doing ? I need some feedback on this mobo cause I'm considering swapping my Rampage II Extreme for this one...

Hey, aka_GK, nice to see you here on XS

    Hi all!

Well, thanks Tigris! Never seen you on PurePC, but as you said, I've the same worklog (with more explanations though) in Poland.
    Anyway, I'll keep updating

Now for the P6T6, it just performs like a God imo. A guy on another french forum also swapped his R2E for this P6T6, and all problems were gone! Seems really bad this mobo...
I had the Striker 2 Extreme, and also some problems and instability. I think that ASUS make the ROG series like "too much". They put all in it, and it results in a mobo of a plenty of functionnalities, but bad at all of them... So I took this workstation mobo, and since then, like 1 or 2 reboots, but not any bluescreen (or maybe one during o/c of the GPU ), but very stable, the 6 PCIe slots are just fabolous, nice connectivity, and RAMs are quite speedy on it. The bundle isn't as huge as the ones from the ROG series (like your R2E), but there's all we need. A simple box with the mobo and accessories. The ROG's box are just too much, the want to make it fabulous, but it results in a quite bad product (imo obviously).
So for the P6T6, I would recommend changing the low-profile heatsinks. They perform very well according to their size, no overheatings, but when you touch the sink on the SB, it's like 50°C or more. So I'm actually on the way to buy a Koolance full-board block, and Koolance blocks for the mosfets. Only the upper mos doesn't heat as much as the other do.

likiller, yeah it's exactly this top, fantastic looking and HQ plexi from EK Thanks for your comment also, and I got it in Poland, but as you can see, you can find it quite everywhere (quite cheap in the US! 19€ in Europe... )

eponymous: As the other said, it depends of the version of the case. I bought the P80 in April, just 2 days after it has been discontinued. I quited missed the shot!
So this last version has actually the openings for the cables and behind the CPU. I was planing to cut these areas, but when it came pre-cutted, I was very pleased! So you might have the other 2 versions, which are (as Mayek said the one with the oval openings (not very practical...), or the plain one, with no holes.
For the mounting of the rez, as you said, they're a lot of holes in this tray! Quite impressive, so I used 2 holes that were perfectly aligned and on the right height. I think they're the E-ATX holes, so if you're using an E-ATX mobo, it obviously won't be possible to fix the rez in there.

    Are you sure about that?

My case is brand new; I bought it only a month ago...

Yeah it's on the website, but I tried to order it in Poland, and they said that they wouldn't receive it anymore, and since then, it disappeard from the website... I found it at caseking.de, where they had a stock of them.
But where did you buy yours? It's possible that you've been given an older rev of it...
I mean, I've been told it has been discontinued, and since then, I saw it disappear from many websites here in Europe...

Hmmmm. I got mine from ebuyer.com, and there was only two in stock. They don't have any more on the website.

To be honest, I'm happy with this case whichever revision it is. The motherboard doesn't concern me as I won't be using those cable management holes

Yeah, that's for sure, the design of this case is just marvellous! I think that I will just be using one of these holes, the rest of the cables will go behind the mobo tray.

D0BR0, thanks for telling about your P6T6's performance After all good words you said I'm almost 100% sure that I'll pull the trigger on this mobo My R2E has been killing me lately with constant POST failures when I started the computer, futhermore, today I've had 15 (!!!) BSOD's in about 2 hours (been trying to overclock my CPU & RAM properly) ...
Oh, I almost forgot to ask - does P6T6 support 1866MHz RAM ?

HHHAAAAAAHAAAA!!! 15!!!! Sry, I couldn't resist, but I had exactly the same!!! I had an E8500, which I put @ 3.44GHz after 10 BSOD's!! Yeah, that really sucks man, you have to change this asap! A friend was also looking for the R2E, but I showed him some tests, and he immediatly followed me. Although all 1st class Asus mobo's are to avoid (like the R2E or my old S2E), the P6T6 is also part from this 1st class mobos or better "premium" high quality Asus mobos, it has NO problems!
Okay so the RAM, I actually have 12Gb of 1600MHz CAS8 Corsair RAM's, and they perform really really well. I think that this mobo supports up to 1800MHz memories, "after o/c". Whatever that means, you shouldn't have any problems. I mean, it's also written on the box "1600MHz after o/c", but I still didn't overclock my i7 920 (as I'm waiting for my last LC components and some more time), but the RAM performs really well and fast! So if you o/c you i7, I guess you won't have any problems with your memory.

    cheers and you're welcome

Thanks again for your answer After the 15th BSOD I finally gave up my overclocking attempts and decided for myself that it was the first and the last time I bought ASUS' "1st Class CRAP" On Monday I'm returning my R2E (hopefully they will take it back) and ordering the P6T6

BTW, just looked up P6T6 specs at the ASUS website and found out that it even supports 2000MHz RAM

EDIT: As soon as I get more funds I'll also start my own project

Okay then, hope it's gonna work for you! Just say that the BIOS is smashed and things like that, they'll believe you (I hope). And of course I was a little worried when buying a high quality mobo again from ASUS. But when I mounted the rig, it was just amazing the speed of the whole rig!
    Glad to help you

So the sleeves I got them at cableorganizer, the french one, but there's also an international website: http://cableorganizer.com/

And for the pumps, lol. I also tried this like 30 times in all possible positions, but for me, there's just no way!! I mean, if you insist and there's no other possibility for you, they'll fit, but not right, you'll have to turn them a bit and drill new holes in the bracket. Side-by-side they're just like 6mm to wide, it's such a pity. But if you look for the design, then I think that my option is better, because they won't be sticked one-another. It's more spacy And when you put them on the same bracket, one will have to be behind the other, because of these pump clamps, that avoid them to be side-by-side and simetrical.

Is that the same bracket as yours? It looks slightly different :s Your brackets seem much further back from the front than these ones would allow :S

Oh yes! I didn't know it was form Alphacool, the brand given by the shop where I bought them was the name of the shop. ^^
So I actually cut them, that's why they look a little different. I've done this because of the front rad, which wouldn't fit otherwise. As you see, i just cut the "mounting part", and drilled 2 holes a bit further back. Don't know really how to explain, but you can see it on the pics.

So it's not a kit, I bought them on cableorganizer.fr (.com also exists). They're very high quality sleeving. This one is a non-fray sleeving, so it also looks a bit cleaner than others, when passing a wire into the sleeving, it doesn't f*ck the sleeve up. Ad how did I do this, very simple. Just used a hairdryer to warm the thermo sleeving up. Also used normal scisors to cut, don't need these heat-knives or whatever they're called to cut your sleeving. I actually don't have any more pics, they're all there But I'm gonna be sleeving the PSU (maybe), so I'll do some pics'es.
And btw, thanks for the comment! Much appreciated
