Hi, Team Germany was, like Team UK, next on the list. However, Patrick at Tom's Hardware was talking of creating a team to promote before he even knew about F1. Tom's kinda kills two birds with one stone. You'll still have german flags remember!
Hi mate, Sorry - you're name was down because I asked Asus at Computex who they wanted and they said you. I've been trying to contact you since. I'll have a word off thread...
Hi mate, As I said to Baz. It's not about strength of competition for the guest teams... it's only about number of Extreme followers. we were actively talked out of having a team UK team for this by the industry because there simply aren't many people in the UK who care about extreme overclocking... purely compared to the other countries selected. That's all. It's only for season one. And this has to be VERY different to existing HWBot competitions or it will seriously diminish them.
You're right about France and Germany.. however, the Tricolor and er, German Flag, will be flown by Team Biostar and Team tom's Hardware. It could well be that Benchtec will be Team MSI at this point.
Nothing is concrete yet. But we had to be pretty Dictator-like in this process because it needs to be ultra commercial. Not about which HWBot teams are the best.
That will happen with season two which will be longer. This is only a test season using teams which are industry friendly to get as much backing as possible... down the line.
Hey, ideally we'll be flying overclockers around the world and have Multiple class comps at places like Monaco. Even a demolition derby class
We'll crawl before we can walk but this is all about promoting the crap out of overclockers and overclocking.
I've been asking in the background about this. There was a slot for a Scandinavian Team and Team Asus would probably have two Scandinavians in it too. I'm assuming Sweden will be represented there.
The Global Motherboard Product Managers personally beg to differ. Also, any team can use any kit. FYI - talking to Shamino, he was openly saying that for some benchmarks he'd want to use a Rampage II Extreme!
Also, have you seen Asus' new MARS cards?
Finally, I'm not making a penny from this. I'd hope to down the line, but if I do, then so will the competitors, XS and HWBot. I'd love to have football-stlye transfer fees and contracts happening for the best guys.
I fully agree with this but was again talked down... at least for season 1. It's supposed to be all about pushing the limits of new hardware performance, and as much as we all love 3DM01, lots of manufacturers can't see the point. I'm certain it will be in season two.
Glad you're stoked. Jacob was mentioning you were keen!
