They are all set to max but I dont enough volume, but that dosent explain why I dont have the icon? did they remove it on those drivers?

    [ 1406 ]
    ----------------------
    1. Support OC station
    2. Improve memory compatibility
    3. Supported EIST function when CPU ratio is in manual mode
    4. Fix Vista loading slowly if use over 3GB RAM

Bios 1406 is solid here so far.

With 1406 I lost my stability at 2005 MHz with 6 Gb OCZ blade 7-8-7 memories.

I found the balance of voltages to be rock solid at 2000 MHz with 1403 under Win7 x64 but these values are no more working with 1406.

I have to work on it.

To overclock is better to let the SpeedStep enabled or disabled?

well tomorrow i should finally get my CPU and make the rig real..... seems like i should be ok to just flash the bios 1406 right? The board has certainly an old one without 975EE support....also i'm gonna use G19 and notes says that support for this keyboard is improved in 1406...

Do not attempt to load your previous overclock profile with 1406. You must re-enter them in manually again...

I wouldn't even do that and for sure, do a cmos clear prior. This BIOS is very good for me anyways...

    Hello XS

I just got this mobo and installed and everythign runs fine except I have some problem with the soundcard. I installed the drivers and the sound works but I have atm maxed windows volume setting and maxed headset volume and it is sometimes not loud enough anyone haveing the same problem?, on my old Maximus boards I couldent even have my headset on 50% volume because that was to much. I also never got a icon for the soundcard on my taskbar(like the ATi icon but for audio) after I installed the drivers. Without the icon I can basicly only play with the windows settings shouldent this card have professional settings like my previous Maximus I and II had?, the soundcard looks the same to me. I tried reinstall the drivers without getting the taskbar icon so what am I doign wrong?. I downloaded the sound drivers from Asus site the only ones that is on there(7.5 mb). Anyone have any ideas what is wrong, anyone have any solution?

I am using Vista 64 if that might have something to do with it.

I was thinking about it, it made no difference when i did my E8600, so i would like to find what i will run this one at 24/7 and if the temps could be a lot better then it will get done too.

I think this might help to a lot of people. It's X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro sound card in first black Pci-e 1x slot. I also placed 280GTX card so you can see how it will look like in real.

Took me about 40 seconds with screwdriver help...

I know it and I did re-enter them manually.
Unfortunately till now I was not able to find a rock stable situation with RAM at 2000 MHz.

Anyway the issue after S3 suspension is still present: CAS is set at 4 when you awake from an S3 stand-by and the ICM memory area is still not writable so you can not set latencies, etc. with CPU-Tweaker.

It doesn't and probably won't ever come with b3 revision IOH. The word on the street is they have EOLed the RIIE and are *either going to focus on the P55/P57 with the ROG line or introduce a new X58 ROG board with the fall line-up refresh (along with P6X Premium).

*pure speculation on my part from here forward
