Im using a 7750be right now and my cpu temps mirror what everest shows plus i put the infrared on it and the cpu temp is spot on what everest shows...the cpu temp is taken right off the heat spredder as the artic cooler 64 does not cover the spredder completely...even under load the temps go up some but nothing concerning..of course i dont o/clock like chew or wez...those dudes are mad scientists.....they are both very knowledgeable about this stuff and i so enjoy reading their posts...
    there kinda like my idols...lol
I have to say chew is the one with magic fingers

Regarding the nb/sb/pwn temps. I usually have similar values as you, and usually they stay in the low range. But have noticed that with high ref clock and a few more volts here and there the temps really sky rocket after a while under decent load. A few strategically placed fans usually takes care of that. But have been looking at a bit more permanent solution. AS adhesive was sold out everywhere so had to settle for some tape instead, but hopefully it will do the trick as well. I'll see how it goes as soon as the package arrives

If you unplug all cables to the MB and just have the power cord plugged in, does it still make sounds?

Anyone noticed Vcore droop depending on CPU-NB voltage as well?

Lowering CPU-NB voltage made Vdroop a little worse for me.

So far my setup is running 3.6GHz Linpack stable with 1.4Vcore (bios) and 2.6GHz NB with 1.18V CPU-NB.

Testing done according to the "Tony-method".

hi guys, i'm back to amd but i would like to know a few things. first of all how can i check my northbridge, southbridge temps? and one more thing if i check the voltage with asus pc probe and everest it reads vcore 1.47, if i check with Amd overdrive and cpu-z it reads 1.35. settings in auto bios 1403, but which one tell the truth?

use a temp probe on the NB and SB... there is not thermal diode that's displayed through software for those.

everest has always read correctly for me. in the Computer>Overclock section it will tell me the CPU VID and NB VID which are the voltage that i have those set to in BIOS. then in the Computer>Sensors section, down towards the bottom, it'll display the Vcore actual voltage... which is about .04 to .05v higher than the VID, but drops down to the VID settings when under 100% load. i believe that overdrive and cpu-z are reading just the VID, not the actual real-time voltage.

also, this board does some weird over voltage thing on the CPU core when the CPU-NB is set to "auto" - it over volts the CPU voltage by 0.1v. so set the CPU-NB voltage to whatever you need it to be (955 is 1.1v, 940 is 1.2v IIRC). 1.25v should be safe.

What eRazorzEDGE says is pretty much what i have found myself, everest sensors is the most thrustfull though hardwaremonitor in bios shows the voltages a little lower.

Guys, this Vdroop is driving me nuts, i'm running 3.6GHz with 1.4V set in bios, Everest reads out 1.45V idle and 1.42V load but once i start Prime95 blend it immidiatly reboots!

Can anyone tell me what's with the VDDA or whatever it's called, does this really help to set it to 2.8V and is it dangerous to run it that high?

I really hate to push more Vcore than neccesary due to that darn Vdroop!

I wish this board had Load Line Calibration.

I’m in the same situation, max prime blend stable is 3.6Ghz. Although I have only tried two previously untested 940’s on the board, but had the same result and behavior on both… Unfortunately I don’t have a spare am2+ board laying around anymore, so cant test them on another mb atm.

Setting the VDDA to 2.8v, or any other value for that matter, does close to nothing for me in terms of vdroop, so little that it might as well be fluctuations on my DMM. I find it a bit strange as some have reported that VDDA does indeed help with vdroop on this board...
Also the amount of vdroop seems to vary from user to user.
For the record I’ve had it at 2.8v for 24/7 usage for months, and nothing have blown up so far.

Is it possible for you to run higher vcore to overcome the vdroop, and maintain stability at higher core speeds? (on normal ambient air cooling?) I’ve only had minor success, but everything seems extremely dodgy when doing so, and I haven’t managed to gain 24/7 stability this way.

I've just been messing around with CPU VDDA but it did next to nothing for me except that when set 2.6V Prime blend crapped out earlier than normal.

I'm sure i can raise Vcore a tad or two to overcome Vdroop but that's rediculous, i'm sure this cpu could run 3.6GHz stable at 1.4-1.42V but i need to give it at least 1.48-1.5V to get it Prime95 blend stable.

I also played some with ACC but it did absolutely nothing.

I'm holding out for the Crosshair III, hoping it has good voltage regulation and LCC in bios even though it means i have to get a AM3 cpu and DDR3 as well.

Cool, looking forward to your results.

Sampsa told me it has Load Line Calibration so that makes it even more interesting, the reboots are very annoying.

I found out it reboots also when running 3D mark 05 cpu test.

Yah its not even vdroop that is the issue on this board to be honest, I can deal with droop but this board has droop up to x voltage setting and then over volts like crazy above X voltage setting causing it to be rather unreliable.

It's more of a voltage regulation issue than droop. I think they are trying to get it right but if they fix it on air then its screwed up on phase, DI, Ln2.....I think they should fix it for the air water guys and let people like me deal with the aggravation with the sub zero stuff since we are very few compared to air water guys.....would not be the first time I had to compensate when cold...

My latest gripe is the ram clocking is impaired with 955's........that should be a high priority fix atm.

Yeah, i noticed the same thing with overvolting, no matter what bios version.

Also the voltage reading in Windows is annoying, not one prog seems to be right.

Water cooling my cpu netted me some more mhz day to day stable! 3.45 is crunching stable at 20c load with 1.4v. Losing the air coolers dropped board temps nicely. Undervolting is still there but everything certainly clocks better! Is this board worth throwing water on the NB?

Ohnestly most NB's dont need water . Just a small fan. Ive yet to water cool one and also like water cooling way better than Air.

Thanks gotvoltage! I was thinking of modding the NB/PWM sink to accept a waterblock is all. Wasnt sure if it would be worth the trouble. Board does seem rather cool now prolly just leave it alone. Its great to be WC again for sure! Cant wait for a Calisto chip to torture!!! Question: Will my NB clock be determined by CPU or the board? IE will a new phenom 2 possibly give me more NB clock?
