Cool Modded MCW 60 , Budget watercooling Build ( PIC HEAVY 56k watch out)

Ok im bored again and managed to set up a Uber budget build for ,, My Ma

She's no Pc guru but asked if she gave me $100 bucks if i could Trow togeter some spare parts and Build her a Nice Pc so she can play Games and practice typing and maybe watch a Movie or two

    I couldnt resist ,,

    Parts i already Had,,
    1x budget $20case Mid tower,,
    1 x500watt Maddog ,,
    !x TA770 and One 9950 ,,
    1xGTX260/216,,
    1xDVD/burner,,floppy drv,,
    1x40gig wd.

(removed from a friends PC long ago ,,I had to ,, it was only incase of Emergency lol.......... One Old Th....al Take Pump Modded to 1/2"flow (fittings and debured the pump.

    1xSpare Stealth GTS 320tripple.

This is what i had to Buy.

    $100bucks got me ,,
2gigs Ballistics 8500,, Fittings ,,Fillport,,Fessor Dye,, radBox,, tubing,,Fans,,misculaniouse nuts and bolts,,. Dinner @ In N Out Burger.
this was a good night to shop Parts.

The Build consist of a few Mild Mods and Basic Tripple Rad Single CPU loop, @ least i think its basic.

I started by grabbing the Lincoln(Welder) and Modded a MCW60 bracket . Now it can work on any VGA 8800/9800 ATI 3800/4800 and CPU/AMD/Intel LOL. It was just lying around and instead of Buying another Nice W/B , thought i would recycle it.

Since the Case only had room for 92nm fan out the Back and one in front .I also modded a TwinFan set up for the rear .

100nm Sythe silver bearing with a 92nm ACpwmfan . I then used a single Sythe 92nm up front. Simple and yes it pulls flow through the case.

I asked What color She liked and Red is the winner.
Except she Said "No Bling light crap is allowed in my PC".

Everything is a tight fit and im still working on my Wire skills ..

UPDATED MOD pics ,, Budget PC is ready for Action.......

    The gOtVolTage Labratory

    First off,,

    I needed a CPU/waterblock not a VGA block so i thought.

    Second off,,

I needed a 92nm or what ever i can fit for a rear Fan to keep Air moving in Case..from the front 92nm.

    FIRST MOD MCW60 to CPU.
The Mod for making a Bracket MCW60vgz cooler to AMD 940cooler wasnt too bad to do and took about 2hours including Paint. Yes i used a welder and grinder and drill to fab this part.

I just dint want to spend $10bucks for a bracket or wait for Shipping.Plus Modding stuff is what i like to any way when im not Building ,,Bikes ,,Hot Rods and what ever else Excetra.

To start this Mod I drilled several holes in (2 Brackes) fully welding them together UNDER the Base to make a single bracket. Once the Bottom was welded i then Drilled several Holes and Spot welded those in.

I then had to recut the Center section open and fit to Block. After Lots of Prep she got a nice coat of FlatBlack and Backed in Oven @ 325 for say 15minutes. Thus it cures the paint like Powder coating.

Ok Now the Second MOD ,,

    100nm Sythe + a 92nmA/C PWM Fan.
Easy to do MOD just Stack two Fans and make Shure You use a A/C PWM so you can use its Conector harnes . These Fans COUNTER ROTATE and Pull Twice the FLow inside the Case Vs using a single 92nm fan. Plusthe A/C fan doubles as a MOBO PWM cooler and spins Air Around in the Rear to Help Cool All my Phet heatsinks..

    gOtVolTage,, pics and some stuff..

Ok Now that THe Block and Case Fan is done it Time to Throw every thing in for Dry Fitting..

MObo ,,VGA,, drives and PSU .. Then i can figure out where in World all this Water stuff is gonna go..

    "
    First things first..
Space was very limited for this Mid tower.
7"x16"x17 and only 5.5" inside to move stuff around.

Ok Most of the Sytem is in and just removed the Stock Heatsink.
See What the Base Temp (was Before i Setup Watercooling).

40c in Bios and 45c In windows Idling @ 65F ROOMtemp. Thats a HOT when its 72F im shure it would be worse. So Now the Fun,, Where am i Going to Put this Stuff.

Everything,,Almost everything now IN place ,,so i Know where to Plumb Around.

    NOW,,
Back here I need to put @least two 7/8ths Holes for Water in and Water out. Also then Figure how to run Fan wires Excetra. Wires will be later.

Oh Man ,,the Fill Port Will Go here some how. 2" is all there is betwen PSU and DriveBays.

    The Pump ,,
This is the only Place to put it. Only2bays high,,Also im using 1/2"x3/4" tubing

Not that thats taken care of time to Plumb..

Test fit the Fill port and test Fit of the Pump..SNugg .

Now thats test fitted i can drill the INLET /OUTLET holes then mount up the Rad box.

Iused a Multi Bit for almost 1"hole. and Dremmel to make shure no Sharpies were left behind..

    Hows it hanging time,,
RadBox mount used here . I actually Mounted the BOX and 100/92nm Fan at the Same time. Then i Prefitted the Box and Rad to get Access points for the Hole that i had Drilled for the 3/4"tubing.

I used a VGA DONGLE to Make shure i Didnt Block the VGA connector access once the Rad was On.

Will be changing Rad down the Road so i Kept the Plastic ouside the Box and used the FATBOYS on PUMP AND W/B.

Last For the Rough stuff ,,
Wiring the Pump and all other stuff to work with a 500Watt PSU.
Id gonna get replaced when i get a Silencer 750. Its kinda clean for now.

Ok ,, Thats it for Now ,, ill post more in 10minutes Almost done ..I forget how many pictures i took Sry . Enjoy

Hahha those will be upgraded very soon.. They are used for first set up. Next Month ill buy a Silence 750watt and then up the GTS to a Tripple Swifty or something. By the way with correct Fans a trpple GTS does work very well.

For now this is a lot cooler than the 40c idle it had On Same Mobo with out Water,, the 9950(140watt) was with stock cooler.

    Bump

Alright ,, the hard stuff is finally over...

Ok Rad and Fans mounted and wired.. Just add Water and i used a spare PSU to Cycle and Walla.

    Its No Bling,,
Gets the Job done and thats what matters.

Could you Imagine A PA120.3 or a Feser ,, id need wheelie bars.

Now rember Earlier when i Said use a VGA Dongle to Keep installed and youll always have room for the Rad.

This is as close as it gets.

The Whole shibang filled and couldnt be happier.

    1st Boot ,,
Temps @ 64f About 18c Ambiant Room temp.

    The Part i Like Most.

    TA770 9950 3.0ghz @ 1.37v 18C Ambinat 35c (STOCK HEatsink)

    TA770 9950 3.0ghz @ 1.40v 18C Ambiant 24/25c After Running All Day(MCW60) N Prime for this Mobo .

    Before ,,

    AFTER,,

I actually set this sytem up to handle the 720BE for MOM ,,once i get my Hands on 955 or better ,, That wont be for a little while so , untill then this is plenty. Also i spent $100 for what i did need and Didnt make ma Pay..

One Fan Spins Opisite the Other So Both Cand Be Pushing Air with out Causing Low in Preshure or Excess turbulance..

If they Spun the Same direction it would be bad in more ways then one when there mounted Stacked .

On a Rad you have a rad between two fans,, not much can go wrong.

Using them Stacked(FAn on FAN) i had to make shure the ENDplay didnt allow them to hit . Whats even tuffer ,, two differnt sizes and i wanted one to pull Air as it trows Air out the Sides.

IF you dont pick the Correct CFM Both Somewhat Matching inside of the Case they will hum and can suck into each other if they dont counter rotate.

    Thank you,,

I didnt think two days would of been enuff to pull off this build To me this is as basic a CPU loop that i could think of which can handle any decent AMD X4CPU easy.

As for the MCW , its been priceless for me .
sSo many uses and still going .

The Temps when using a PHII will be even lower. This 9950 likes 1.4v for both CPU/NB. Its a Hot Chip . I know if the Loop does good on this one it will have no problem Once the 720 replaces it.

    Note:
This Biostar TA770 is the Only( 770 series Mobo) i Never popped using this 140watt CPU. Most others the Mosphets(PWM circuit) on SB600 say see ya after 1.55vid.
