Not too old... But, imo, breaking 50K in 05 deserves dedicated thread.

This is about AMD redefining what extreme overclocking is with phenom II platform. How about pots designed to stomp @max full to the top with LN2? How about cold booting a system at -235c? How about over 100% overclock in 3dmark 2006? How about phenom "overclockers" edition cpus that can ALL do evil things when frozen.....we can only dream right? ya never know.
all we need now is sham to work some magic and make a us an AM3 m/b to complete this statement

    great work as always Vince

    Hahahahaha, you're just great!

How much did you earn by going from LN2 to LHe (if tested on LN2)?

Great job Kingpin, and everybody else. Those results are great, and:

is why I take my hat off to AMD, and you guys bringing on the results.

    Congratulations.......

    hhehehe

AMD is now well and truly back in the game

p.s. shame about no '01 testing...would be nice have seen some extreme clocks regardless of what sort of likely scores are expected....

Remember that very VERY early Core i7 975 Fugger got to "reclaim" the 3Dmark05 WR to Intel? Wouldn't had happened if it wasn't for AMD

It's the record for an AMD processor. That's why it was written this way on the board, which was a work in progress as we captured scores.

The cards seem to still be quite bottlenecked by the CPU in 3dmark even with these speeds so not much to gain from it I suppose.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    GPU-Z doesn't read 4870x2 clocks correctly either.
