    Yeah, that's another possible point...Or maybe the CPU is concave or corvex and makes a very bad contact with the Heatsink.

    Well my last 920 was fine wit this HS...kind wish I kept it.
    I put a razor on top of my D0 and I looks fine. HS is making full contact and I even did the True washer trick.

    Can a bad board make CPU run hotter?

    It may, but very rare if ever. Only thing I could think of is that Intel may have made a bad IHS contact with the core inside, so heat transfer is very bad.

    After lapping my True my temps have gone down a lot...it was bad, there was like a lump right in the middle of the HS, just the opposite to concave.

    I might even do the CPU.
