@greg.m, what's your max prime95 blend & linpack (linx/ibt) stable configuration, because if it is 9x480 you should be happy and not to think to change your board.

My opinion on the DDR 1200MHz issue is that once on an Advert and not possible to be reached by the community (us), Each one of us needs to raise a ticket and needs to be marked to Asus with subject Escalate the problem..

Dude, they are gonna use the same lame a$$ excuse of not "supporting" overclocking.... It's pretty much a moot point, till someone can "mod" or fix the current bios's.... Asus just doesnt give a frak......

DDR2-1200 works fine with Micron 1GB sticks. Problem is it doesn't with most if not all 2GB sticks.

That's what I've tried to tell before but looks like people don't understand, quad with 2x2gb is no go with 500+fsb 600+ram.

I would say that getting such results is gg.

FSB 465MHz is still miles away from FSB 500+MHz.

There's something wrong with the BIOS and that can't be denied.

The problem is that this board came with the wrong BIOS period.

    Yoh guys,
I don´t feel anymore like waiting for the ASUS-break-down-bios. Guess what I did?
You are right- I just ordered a DFI DK P45-T2 RS Plus.
This board is supposed to make a fsb of 500 MHz possible. The memory oc over 12xx MHz will be possible too. As soon as I have this board I will tell you about it.

hi all, this is my first post so I'm technically a newbie!!! other than that I overclock the hell out of my rig. My experience with bios 0902 is so far so good. I can't complain about it as my baby's stable at 465x9 (558 MHz on memory). I did some burnin' test:

@ Greg. I been doing 8x450 with mem 5-5-5-15-40 Stable
But the 8x455 Mem 5-5-5-18-55 8x460 mem 5-5-5-18-55 failing at large FFTs over if NB is higher.(around 8th pass or so)'

But iam quite sure that my CPU QX6700 is at its limits LinX for example with shut down the PC around the 5th pass.

Looks stable to me. Nice work.

What kind of memory are you using?

    @greg.m

Can you do a test with the G.SKILL F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI to see if you can get it stable because I think that we've got a compatibility problem with that memory on our board.

The Gigabyte UD3R has a P45 chip too. So I don´t know if there is a big difference between these boards.
Whatever, I can´t wait to see my G.Skills going up to 1300 MHz or maybe more.
    ASUS won´t disappoint me anymore!
I appreciate mikeyakame´s recommandation. Thank you very much

Can you run some IntelBurnTest tests with CPU Clock Skew Delay 100ps and NB Clock Skew Delay 100ps to see if you can get it stable with these settings.

with which clocks-settings do you mean? Btw i found out that the skew combo that is the most stable for me is normal/normal. Everything else gives me errors(memory) almost right from the beggining and ive tried:

    cpuskew: normal(best), 100 , 100, 200, 200, 300
    nbskew : normal(best), normal, 100, 100, 200, 200

With 9 X 465MHz and DDR 1117MHz tRD 7. When Chemjsal can get that stable with 8 Giga you should have no problem to have it IntelBurnTest stable with the G.SKILL F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI.

When you can't get that stable and I can get it stable with 8 X 465MHz it must be a compatibility between the memory and the board.

Try with advancing the DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A and B with 100ps to if you can keep your memory more stable.

And if you can with your g.skills but i cant with mine then its something else. But ill try and come back with some results.

@A-grey. I'm using 4x2 Giga G.Skill PC2-8800. I've used 4x1 GB Team Xtreem TXDD2048M800HC3DC before. My best ride @1239 MHz (2.30V) at PL6 with all four sticks. Unfortunately, the memory's not fully compatible with the board as it's a general pain in the ass to get it up and running so I switched to G.Skill. The other reason for the switch was the fact that I use Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.7, two WD360ADFD raptors in RAID0 on Areca ARC-1210) as my main operating system and so 8 giga comes in handy. Anyway, I love this mobo.
