Finally finished my build...well almost still waiting on graphics cards. Heres Windows 7, Intel X25-m 160gb, this thing is smoking fast whole Windows install takes roughly ten minutes Loving the SSD!

So far I haven't done any tweaks and I didn't realize I was suppose to do 64bit alignment before installing Windows so I will probably reinstall and see if it makes any difference at some point.

Alignment with W7 is automatic and you don’t need to do any tweaks to get extra performance. ACHI mode works better than IDE mode and defrag should be turned off, but other than that you are good.

Nice then I don't have to reinstall. Am running AHCI, turned off defrag and indexing. I also switched superfetch to only cache system boot files haven't really noticed a difference though. Loving SSD Windows boots in around 10 seconds or less, sometimes the welcome screen doesn't even have time to show heh just goes straight to desktop. This is a pretty huge upgrade from my old 70g raptors in raid 0.

Man, I would love to have an X25-M, but the price is way out of my spending range.

I would totally buy a 30GB Vertex if they dropped back to $80 or so on Newegg, like they were about a month ago.

    I get 7.9 on fresh drives (2 x X25-E in R0) and 7.8 on a re-run after the drives are used (degraded).

Anyone with a Vertex or X25-M found the same thing?
