I have tested 3 sets of sticks in the gigabyte to be cooperative.....

    A set of gskill rated 1600 9-9-9 1.65v ( they can do 1700 with tuning )

    a set of elpida bugets rated 1333 9-10-10 1.5v ( can do 1400 6-6-6 with tuning + 1.75v )

OCZ animals which do rated specs 1600 7-7-7, my set seems to need 1.7v which is withing tolerance, rated 1.65.

Everything I have tried on the QVL list clocks really well.

High volt d9's or at least the set I have ( 2x1g ) do not cooperate as well.

I have not tried my other OCZ's because gigabyte does not adhere to jedec specs of 1.5v for ddr 3........and they like less than 1.6v which the board does not allow.....

Its quite possible you need to sit in memtest and tune your sticks.........yes I know its work but this is part of building your own pc and ocing.....not just shoot right for a frequency and go....

Hey chew*, what is ambient temps there? I cant seem to get my 955 to stay under 35*c idle with 1.33v with water and 42*c @ 100%! My 940 would stay @ around 26 - 29*c idle and 35*c @ 100% with the same setup. I think I may have a bad mount..

Got my AC on now, ambients 19C, I'm quite sure if I ran 1024m Wprime right now I would get a big fat whopping BSOD............32M PI doesn't stress the cpu hardly at all, heatsink barely warm to the touch with preety high volts.......

Would have to tone it down to 4gig and 2600-2800NB to all bench stable likely......Msimax and myself are just having a little 32M challenge....I'm at the verge of barely bootable speeds.....if I get to hot i have to shut down and cool heatsink back down to boot

Nah I doubt either of us are "stable", he's on water i'm on air

only way your going to get 4gig stable is likely this scenario.

    1. windows xp or win 7 32 bit

    2. have your ram absolutely 100 percent stable, I'm not talking 32m stable or 20min prime stable i'm talking 3 hours min prime blend.........

    3. underclock your NB and HT a tad and undervolt them to take some heat way..........test 3 hours minimum like that prime blend......

    4. inch your way up with core speed using voltage only when you fail not because you think it will help..........

    5. take your time.............it took me 2 days to get 4 gig prime stable.........

    6. use the best cpu cooler you can possibly afford.....I can tell you right now your not getting 4 gig on a xigamatek or comparable......I know I tried.......True 120 finally got me there, you do get what you pay for.......

    7. keep your ambients cool.........

And after all that discard it because you will get better performance at 3800mhz with 2600-2800NB.....................

Allrighty this one does not count because I broke our 4.5 gig limit.......

Actually needed to find limit of ram and prepping ram for a future ln2 bench session and working on one of my weaknesses which has always been 32m pi.......I think I have 32m right where I want it now
