Hey, got a question. What RAM should I use with this board and the 955? I bought some Crucial Ballistix PC3 10600 and I have it running @ 9 9 9 24 33 with 1.9v @ 1600mhz. Seems to be pretty good RAM, but I want better. So what do you all suggest?

Everything seems slow as hell. Windows loads slow, Shuts down slow etc. I dont get it.

I cant get my ram to run at the rated 1600 speeds now. And I cant get a stable OC. Dang I knew this was going to happen.

The OCZ animals I have tested 1600 7-7-7 is preety darn easy.

I got gskills that are supposed to run 1600. This board is wierd. I like asus bios layout much better.

2 words in one sentence go hand in hand the cpu has an internal memory controller...........if your ram is not stable it of course means your cpu will not be stable......follow the guide i posted.........An oc takes time.....I don't just toss a cpu in and am at 4 gig 5 mins later.....I spend about 2-3 days finding a stable OC........minimum....Originally Posted by ChrisB17

I dont get why 1600 wont run on this board. I push f-10 to save and it just make my LCD go blank.

Have you tried your ram in diff banks? have you placed your good stick in the correct bank........do you even know which stick is better........these are the basics to overclocking.........

Ok I got the ram to work great in the white slots at rated timings. Thats a relief.

i might need to go back and read your previous post, but there might be another factor to why this is happening....
edit: run at a less then rated speed, run memtest.
Can get exact timing volts specs for your sticks and a screen shot (picture) of the mem setting in bios etc and post it?

Tough call on those......really not sure what they woud be using for IC's.....Might be like my gskills.....try 9-9-9-24-33 1T @ 1600
The problem is those are an intel specced set of ram.....intel gets a little more mileage out of certain IC's

I envy those people who can get their 955 to 4Ghz and can boot into Windows. I've tried everything and it just won't work at all. Could it be that my CPU is a dud? I can get it up to 3.9Ghz and thats it.

I belive the problem is your memory, I got a set of g-skills like that and my system went crazzy and I ended up using my original memory. I dont think you should get I7 specified memory for this board. But, it could also be a single slot of memory, you can try them one at once to find out if there is a bad stick(I kind of doubt it but you can try).

(I guess if I sell the flash drive on ebay for 20 bucks and 20 bucks for rebate, the memory would cost around 54$, great deal!!)
