Has anyone been able to get this board stable over 4200 Uncore Frequency??

I thought that it was my C0 that wouldn't clock over 4200 so I purchased a D0...This D0 will not go over 4200 Uncore either even at 1.6v VTT so I have a feeling this R2E is holding my memory overclock back.

I'm using Elpida Hypers and I'm trying to get them stable at 2100Mhz and this isn't possible unless this board will do 4200 Uncore.

I know that the DFI X58 will do over 2100 with the Elpidas.

I wonder if the B3 revision will help this...if not, this board is a goner and i'll be getting a DFI.

I'd assume the answer would be no. Seems asus and gigabyte to a lesser extent made some relatively unimpressive boards compared to evga and dfi. I wouldn't expect b3 to change anything, it seems that dfi and evga know what they're doing with the x58 board design and bios. If only I'd known, I would've gotten a cheaper x58 board, and upgraded to the classified or a dfi board, hindsight is 20/20...

According to statements from ASUS, there will be no real R2E BIOS in the near future.....

Oh, so I guess they feel that they have perfected the R2E BIOS or they feel that it's not worth their time any longer?

I think he may be refering to a lack of plans to add proper support for the Xeon chips. They have not given up on the R2E BIOS lol

one of the reasons for the higher vtt on the r2e is the high ioh voltage

with the dfi i found if i increase the ioh voltage i need to increase the vtt also.

this board aint going to be doing 2100-2200mhz CL7/CL8 anytime soon
    1.6v definately not enough.
    u need around 1.65v on r2e for 2100mhz and 1.75v roughly for 2200mhz.

You can try fill out a Support Form from Asus with the XEON Support question and your Ticket will be closed immediately.

The Xeon Support in the ASUS Bios will be only for WS Boards.

i am talking about a watercooled NB because this board still has the fusion block on it (here is a pic to show you what i mean)

and 52 degrees i think "says" it does not make good contact

im hoping someone can help me. i finally got all my new peices together for my new system and to my dismay i got no screen on my first bootup. after trying to figure out what was wrong i narrowed it down to my middle (blue) dram slot, at first i thought one of the memory sticks was dead but i tried all of them single and also in slots 1 & 3 and they all work, im really hoping its not my board as i bought it past the 30 day mark and not sure on refund policy at ncix....

currently using RIIE and dominator 1600 ram

    Greatings to everyone,

I'm a proud howner of a Rampage II Extreme as almost all of you guys here in this thread are ...but i have 2 problems...

First problem: I don't know the "art of overclocking" as almost all you guys do... in other words i'm practically a noob... so please be gentle at me

Second problem: I'm going out of my mind trying to get my ram working at their default speed...

So i have the following hardware:

    Rampage II Extreme (1306 bios)
    i7 965 EE
    12GB OCZ DDR3 PC3-15000 CL9 Edition Reaper Low-Voltage Triple Channel (1866MHz, CL 9-9-9-28)

...and i have not been able so far to have all the 12GB running at 1866MHz (9-9-9-28)... it never entered windows (Vista ultimate 64) it doesnt even post

I'm not overclocking the cpu, it's runing at the default 3.2GHz, i'm using 1,65V DRAM voltage and i'm setting the ram timings manualy (9-9-9-28) and of course i set DRAM frequency to DDR3-1866MHz... i have tried lots of values for QPI/DRAM, so i'm not sure anymore, but i think the max i went was 1,4V...

I tried the same settings with just one stick (2GB) and it works... tried with 2 sticks (4GB) and it works... with 3 sticks (6GB) it works but it shows errors in prime95...

So i need help from you guys...

    The big question is:

Is it possible AT ALL to have 12GB of DDR3 running at 1866MHz 9-9-9-28 on this mainboard ????

    The other questions are:

If it is possible... are these OCZ sticks up to the task?

Also, if it is possible... what settings do i need to mess with?... for instance, how far should/can i take the QPI/DRAM ?

Like i said in the begining, i'm new at this bios tweaking... so i apologise for my basic/noob questions

I have read all this thread from page 1 and i have seen lots of you guys running 12/6GB of 2000/1866MHz sticks at lower speeds (1600MHz, for instance) that's why my big question is: Is it possible at all to run 12GB at 1866MHz ?

Later on i plan to overclock the 965EE on water cooling... but right now i just wanted to use my ram at it's max speed... but of course i don't want to fry the 900€ i7

Thanx alot for your time... and keep pushing those RiiE

Does anybody have windows 7 installed? If so, are there any issues with cpu-z? Because cpu-z is freaking out on me with sporadic multi switching every 10 seconds or so, and its never been a problem with vista. (not like power saving turned on, but just arbitrary low multis that aren't even possible, I've seen it go as low as 1). real temp doesn't have any issues.
