    PowerColor Announces PCS++ HD4890 (1010/1100)

    Taipei, Taiwan – May 13, 2009–TUL Corporation, a leading manufacturer of AMD graphics cards, today announced a powerful addition to the PowerColor HD4890 series: the PCS++ HD4890. As an advanced version of the PCS+ HD4890, the PCS++ HD4890 has all the key features of the PCS+ HD4890, including ZEROtherm’s exclusive cooling system, the fastest ever single GPU solution and a four-heatpipe design to deliver the most efficient cooling performance. The ZEROtherm cooling system provides the perfect balance between operating in a quieter environment and heat dissipation performance.

    The PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 overclocking ability shines through, delivering the utmost gaming experience with its default 1010MHz core speed and 1100MHz memory speed. In order to offer the most stable overclocking platform, the PCS++ HD4890 has an upgraded PWM design through, using polymer capacitors and reducing RDS(on) of MOSFET. The result is a reduction in temperature and output voltage, providing a stable and cool overclocking solution.

    “The PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 is unlike any product in our lineup. The overclocking ability of this card is second to none,” said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL Corporation. “The HD4890 series and the PCS++ HD4890, in particular, are in a class of their own when it comes to combining speed and stability........."

    yup, I bet it's downvolted to do 1010 mhz

    The overclocking ability of this card is second to none
    I doudbt any of these card will hit 1050+, given it doesn't even have the volterra chips

    Anyway the pcs+ (950/1050) is still nowhere to be found.

    Looks like Powercolor wants to get rid of vanilla 4890s and then completely switch to pcs line, which is cheaper to produce (simpler power circuits)

    WTh,1010Mhz stock core clock?? How high can RV790 go?! It looks like whatever the changes RV770 received it was well worth the effort.

    Goodbye 275, Hello 285

    This at $290-$280 shouldn't be a bad deal at all.

    looks like they put a nice heatsink on those mosfets, but still is there anyone who will tell us what voltage any of the 1ghz chips run at, or what they can do when maxed out with volts.

    at this rate by end of june, you could buy a card that comes stock at 1200mhz, but will be a waterblock edition and sell for 450$

    THe 950mhz wizard testing was using 1.5V , makes me think that any HD4890 will hit 1GHZ with that amount of voltage

    HD4890 at 1ghz beats the GTX285 for a lower price, go AMD

    Seriously thou, I wonder how far it can go, still waiting for crazy Ln2 overclockers to enter the stage.

    Thats some HIGH voltage. stock voltage is 1.315 I think. My vanilla 4890 can hit 1022 on those stock volts and will do 1048 stable at 1.4, but that makes the inside of my tower so hot just from the heat radiating out from the card that my CPU overclock fails cause the temps on the graphics card. I dont even want to think about how hot 1.5 would be if 1.4 will literally give me 1st degree burns when I put my hand on the card...
