Live MB OC Report :: ASUS Rampage Extreme

Hi guys, I´m back and I have tried to get my RE stable with a Q9650 and some 4x1 Dominator 1800C7D.

So far I have it stable with LinX 25 loop (max problem size, max memory use) and 2hrs of Crysis (loop with Harbor Assualt @ 1600x1200 Very high) but it fail one or two cores within 5 minutes when I run Prime95 blend (4 instances).

Have tried a lot of combination to get it stable but none worked, any ideas anyone.

Looks to me like the NB GTL is a little too high...try back down a bit and seeif it helps. Also start testing with all CPU GTLs on normal (auto)

I can say one thing to you about your cpu temperatures. I do not know which equipments do you use with your system or loop but they are hot with your currently water cooling system. Because you do not give the 1.5 or 16vcore on it. It seems like 1.3-1.4vcore what you gave it. Your quad also 45nm, I cant think about 45nm if you have it LOL.

Note: I do not know whats your room temperature normally.

I know that the temps are high but when I run LinX (max problem size, max memory use) it gets very hot @ ~1,35v, when I run P95 small temp drops by ~10C and I can drop vcore by ~0,10v.

Everyone that have run LinX (LinPack) with max problem size, max memory use knows that the CPU gets very hot even though the vcore is relative low.

If I back down on NB GTL to lower then +70 Crysis wouldn´t run, it freeze and I have also tried CPU GTL from +50, auto, +50, auto to auto, -50, auto, -50 and seems that the system are most stable with auto, -40, auto, -40.

I can play games, web browsing, watch movie, encode, decode, run LinX, run P95 small FFT, loop 3DMark06 and Vantage for hours and other daily things without problems with the setup I have now but I are not stable with P95 blend.

So maybe I have to get into the black magic art of DRAM Skew but I don´t have a clue where to start.

If you're not stable with blend I don't think you have to mess around with DRAM clock skew as they have nothing to do with it IMO. Try back down the CPU Multi and test again and if blend fails then most likely your FSB isn't stable.

Has anyone tried the latest BIOS 1201?

I think it is FUBAR,

After one week going back to 1104 as the 1201 has problems picking up my RAID and keyboard at times.
also takes longer to detect the drives

I know that it´s stable with the multi that I use but I will try to test with vtt and try to get it stable through P95 blend.

I use to run it with 4 instances @ 925Mb each and dedicate one at each core, that way I almost max out my memory and put some pressure on the CPU.

Any thoughts on that?

I don´t like OCCT, not enough options, but that´s me, I prefer LinX and Prime95.

I can´t make it P95 blend stable with 0403, I´ll try 1104.
