Just an FYI and no, I have not confirmed it, just food for thought.

    ORIGINAL: Kensek

    They are locked.

Dram you only get to pick between 6:1 or 8:1. The other 3 or 4 ratios are there but they do not work.

    Uncore is Locked.

I sold both my W3520s already. Bioses are to immature for them.

And the D0 975 or 950 will kick but.

    The W3520 could do 222x21.

And in SuperPi 1M at 222x22 with all 8 cores enabled did 8.66s.

It couldn't go past 222BClk because that ran at a Uncore of 3996. And anything above 4000 Uncore crashed or didnt boot.

But D0s can do 10% more than C0s.

I read that EVGA was working on a bios over there also, I sure hope so as I have one coming to go in the classified. I may just send it back and not even open it...

    This is what I feared.

I am willing to bet that this is more or less the same situation on any X58 board, minus a few.

BAH!! no wonder I couldn't do 2:10 with the 3520, 2:8 runs like a charm with litte less vcore than my D0.I think it might have to do with RTL not being available in the BIOS on a lot of x58 boards. It's one of the important parameters for high memory speeds.

EDIT:Yep, this is what I found from EVGA forums. This is from Sham himself:

"from the xeons tested, it seems htey are hardlocked to 20x uncore multiplier which means max of 1333 2:10 ratio for memory. so u can use 1333"

ARGH!! it sucks. This means that if you wanna do 2:10 the only available BCLK is the default of 133. I thought my W3250 was a keeper and I thought I could stay on air.It was running a lot cooler than my 920 DO with my TRUE copper on it(probably because of a flatter IHS). Time for some H20 loving I guess(which really scares the crap outta me..have never done H20) or lap my DO IHS(which I have never done either).

Compare chart for people that need things cleared up.

The chart doesn't clear anything up... going by the chart above, you can basically state they are all essentially the same with the exception of price , .9 of temp and CPU. I just wasted my time reading a chart that is identical across the board...

    Then you need glasses.

    there is 920, 940,965 vs 3520,3540,3570

There was to clear up pricing, QPI and other things.

You didn't know, so just accept that and move on. The QPI Link speed for both the 920 and W3520 is 4.8Gs, even the W3540 (the 950 equivalent) is also 4.8Gs.

No, How about you re-read the first page because I wasn't the only one to be confused by the fact that newegg made a typo, and some people on the first page even believed it was 6.4G/T

The chart you posted is not from newegg; and what's the purpose of that chart anyway? It doesn't relate to your argument.

Wow. Zucker, I thought better of you. It's because people got confused and the chart is directly from Intel. Clearing up all the info newegg messed up.

Bootsy, could you please check whether you are able to do 4GHZ uncore. I could not on my BR, eventhough the ratios are unlocked, I could not get them stable. I would have to try them on my classified.

Nice uncore. Good to see xeons doing 4GHZ uncore without any problems. I have mounted my W3250 on the classified and try to get it stable @ 200x21 with memory 2:10. Let's see how it goes. I also have a DFI incomming
