the multiplier dropping issue only affected by LinX, I haven't come across any application or game that could put such tremendous stress on the cpu that forces it to drop (not even when I was converting 35GB of RAW data the other day), cpu load was 100% on all 8 threads but mutliplier remain at 21x. So I'd say ignore it for now till Asus put their act together to fix it so we can run LinX more comfortably

Is the following an isolated case?

My V2 P6T-D decided not to recognize the 3x2gb RAM anymore, it instead told I have 2gb RAM. I am sure that all 3 sticks are good.

Un-plug the power supply, take out the battery and one sick of memory. Replace and see if your bios is fully re-set.

No, I think Asus has a standalone acpi driver.
I had this when I was using the p965 deluxe (forgot the exact model name).
The strange thing on the p6t deluxe v2 is the driver is not in the download section.

Its basically the same board as the Deluxe v1 other than lack of SAS controller, acpi driver should be common between them.

Regardless it should have been included with the driver CD...

Can someone post a link to the ACPI driver for the V1? I can't seem to find it, and I too have the unknown device in device manager.

Also, I was looking at the drivers on Asus' website, and it seems that there are Marvell SATA drivers. I have never installed any Marvell SATA drivers, because I thought that the SATA ports were from the ICH10R... no? It seems to work fine without them, are they really needed?

To get rid of the "unknown device" in device manager put the Asus motherboard DVD in the drive. When autoplay pops up click run the cd. The Asus driver gui will appear and the unknown device disappears in the device manager. No need to install any driver manually it will disappear once the Asus screen appears. (Have the device manager open at the same time).

I thought everyone knew that, it works on any Asus board, ive been doing it that way for a few years on X58/X38/P35 and even my AMD780 board. Works on Gigabyte too at least an x38 board i had.

With the Marvell thing the motherboard has ports for marvell and Intel. On the P6T standard the marvell ports are a different color. (2 Marvell 6 Intel)

Just plug in to the intel ports and disable marvell in the bios that way you dont have the marvel screen during bootup. No need for Marvel drivers.

Anyone running a 920 with 218bclk x 21 multi or higher. I seem to be stuck here and would appreciate some help.

What are the max bclks reported on these boards?

I don't want the drivers from the Asus CD because they are out of date. And the ones on their website are usually out of date as well. Typically, motherboard "specific" drivers are really not specific at all, and are just out dated repackaged drivers from the manufacturer of the component in question.

I would like to know who actually makes the "unknown device" component and where the latest driver can always be obtained.

Also, regarding the Intel vs Marvell SATA ports on the P6T Deluxe... would I be correct to assume that the two vertical ports are on the Marvell controller and the horizontal ones are on the Intel controller (other than the Marvell SAS ports)?

The device is ATK0110 ACPI Utility.
The version in the cd is 1043.2.15.37 dated 8/13/2004 so I suppose it is quite old.

They have one dated 2006. But, I don't think there is any difference. You would think ASUS would atleat update the driver date. Even if it was just for looks. I received it from MS Updates. But, if you search "Utilities" on the ASUS site, one comes up dated after 04.

Did you try un-installing the error devices an then scan for new hardware. That should work.

Ah, so then Marvell has one unified driver for the SAS and SATA ports? Where can I get the latest version of it? Also, is there a way to simply disable the Marvell SAS/SATA ports in the BIOS, but leave the Marvell PATA port enabled (for optical drive)? Are there any special drivers for the Marvell PATA controller?

Ok I did some searching and it appears that ATK stands for AsusTek and the ATK0110 is a chip that allows the Asus Ai Booster program to work in Windows and overclock the system. So since it is an Asus device, the latest driver should in fact come from Asus. What is the latest version they have and where can we get it?

Wow, that is great that you now know what ATK stands for. You must be new to ASUS Motherboards. I posted a pic of the latest version. Or, like I said, you can get it on the ASUS support download site by searching utilities.

Directly from the horse's (Asus') mouth.

    1, "Intel(R) ICH10R LPC Interface Controller - 3A16"
No, there is not special driver for the controller.
Please install the ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device for a try. http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/...PI_1043400.rar
If the problem still exists, please install a fresh WinXP OS and support CD drivers.
