    Cool Some E6320 benching

Now, I know you'll probably just snore and look elsewhere, but the reason this ever happened was that my E8600 turned out to be broken. Guess I'll need a new one. I wasn't too disappointed though, after popping out my E6320 that once upon a time did 591MHz FSB...

I'll apologise in advance for the lack of pictures from my benching, I forgot my camera at elmor's when we were benching (swearing at) the worst ever made Phenom II's. But as usual, you don't really want to see me, there's lots of long-haired blondes who actually are female... I usually think results are the things that matter, so I present you a pair of screenshots.

Max PI 1M. Just one stick of RAM, since I wasn't really bothered with PI, just wanted to see how well the CPU did.

    Max clock.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=561347

This was done with a Mousepot rev 3 (which meant pretty fast temperature changes), the coldbug is at about -130C. And no, it doesn't do that last 1MHz, trust me, I tried everything.

    Voltages:
    VCore: 2.2-2.39V set in BIOS
    VPLL: 2.5-3.0V
    VTT: ~1.7V

    Gear:
    ASUS Rampage Extreme (thanks, Kinc)
AData Vitesta Extreme Edition 1333MHz (1x1GB)
    PCP&C TurboCool 860W

I don't really know what else there is to say, I wish I'd have more pics, but no camera made it pretty hard. Also, it's my first WR, so I'm a tiny bit excited at the same time, even though it's a old piece of junk.

    Thanks guys.

    The 65nm CPU's don't mind a little extra voltage.

I wasn't particularly bothered with keeping it alive, to be honest, but it still lives.

I did. 2.5V VCore wouldn't POST. I felt that 3.0V PLL was enough, the VTT was enough too, but yeah, I actually gained another 50-60MHz going from 2.2 to 2.3V on the cores.

I thought you all were accustomed to these kinds of voltages on 65nm chips. I've attended the elmor school of chip voltages, maybe I don't have the same perspective as you others do.

Anyways, thanks for all comments, they're appreciated.

nah i did 2.6v through my C2D based celeron and 2.5v through my ES E7200

woot for the WR on that chip can't wait to see what you can do with a bigger chip

    That's the spirit!

Well, truth is, I don't have that good luck with CPU's generally. The QX9770 I have tops out at about 5.5GHz, which is fair, but not good. My i7 965 just plain sucks (one of those 20-ish Sampsa rejected, but at least it does some 4.5GHz under phase). I just saw that the Rampage I used was running BIOS 0131 or something like that, probably why the E8600 didn't POST (an ancient internal ASUS BIOS, first public was 0301). Shame I'm out of LN2 for now, guess I'll get a refill (and a new pot) next week.

But I sure hope I can get something good going soon, thanks for the comments.

Haha, no it didn't matter if I gave it 1.52 or 1.65V, my i7 is still stuck at roughly 4.6GHz. That's what happens when you get one of the 20+ chips Sampsa has tested and rejected.
