I sent a mail to Gigabyte, but no answer yet.

Is there any one else here with a GA-MA790FX-UD5P motherboard using the F3 BIOS downloadable from the Gigabyte website?

Chew, are you sure it's the BIOS fault? If so, I'll patiently wait for a new BIOS, but if not, I'll just send the motherboard back for replacement...
Good news......sent me a bios for you guys......Once I test it to make sure its not going to kill anything I will host it up

woow my 955 BE is coming on Friday together with the DFI 790 M3H5, 4 gb of micron-based OCZ DDR 3 ram, Heatkiller 3.0 AM3 and a special anfitec block for the DFI heatpipe

i'm more excited about this rig than i was about the xeon w3520 + gigabyte EX58 + 6gb patriot biper ram, back to AMD, DFI, water AND OCZ after 2 boring years of intel/asus/gigabyte/corsair and air coolers

can't wait to put this stuff under water push it really hard and tweak it for the next 2 weeks!

but how good do these chips scale under water? voltages don't matter as long as they don't kill the chip within a year

Latest version of AOD is really a pleasant surprise with that profiles stuff . You can set it to OC 1,2,3 or 4 cores, or downclock any of those, all depending on the workload in question(target app).Plus it has all those advanced tweak options, from IMC to cores and voltages that it makes you just stare at them the first time you see them .

The latest AOD (3.0) doesn't detect my 955 and says there is no AMD processor present... ...2.14 works, kinda....

Ive found 2.14 to be most reliable , When i tried AOD 3.0 was borked with my 720 actually and M3A79-t .

I set My OC in Bios an only use it to view ram timing and basics. 3.0 needs a little work ATM.

AOD3.0 has great features , they just need that RAID Exterminator stuff for da bugs.

Just curiouse ,, Do you have a bigger PSU say 650watt?..

500watt may be getting pushed with 955 and the other Hardware , Drives and Videocard combined.

It should still let you add volts to Nb even being a 500watt. On the Top end youll be pushing that PSU soon.

I mean, 500W is ok, TDP 955 (teoretical is 125W, but no real, real max is about 105W in burn), HD3870 is about 100W in burn, and 2 modules RAM +2x HDD not too much.
In reviews testers had ussually 600W PSU but high-end GPU gtx265 and more or HD4870 or hd4870x2.

Seasonic 500 will get you by, but let me state that I would not be using it with any gameable vidcard + overclocking........only onboard graphics or low power non 6 pin.....

    I have a seasonic here......according to sticker 500 watt max = 396W continuos.......

The more you pull from the rails the more stress the PSU is under, the more stress the higher the ripple unless of course your like me and only buy PSU's with low ripple under load.....The Seasonic is decent with a 2600Pro or equivalent low TDP card......If your Ocing.......for a stock system its fine..........

I think for overclocking conditions with a higher TDP vidcard such as a 3870 your pushing the limits however.

For my bench rigs with a good vidcard ( 4850 or higher) at minimum I use my 750silencer .......If I require more juice a 1200 turbocool feeds the need........and if benching 4870x2's in crossfire both the 750silencer and 1200 turbocool are up to the task when looped together......

not sure about the week 13. the last number is a bit high 0467 but that hasnt made much differance with the PHII from what I have seen.

best thing to do would be to OC it and let us all know how it goes
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!
