lol the only way i could think to make that work would be to have 3 blowing in and one capable of a stupid high cfm sucking it out. or have the left and right fans blowing in and the top and bottom blowing out. probably wouldn't work that well but it'd make a nice conversation piece!
You can try that. I bet its going to be a serious overkill

Where can you buy extra clips? I just need 3 pairs and one or two extra fans.
You must [not] advance.

if you put 4 fans to pull or to push, the result won't be good(i tried), but if you put 2 tu push and 2 to pull you will have a better result. best results you will have in combination of 2 fans: push-pull. i tried all the combinations and this one is the best

So you test 4 fans in different push pull combinations and your results were that only 2 fans in push pull performed the best?
Thanks

oh so that idea might actually work..... i was only joking when i suggested it
you can try and see what your result will be. first try with 2 fans (push-pull), then with all 4, and see what results you get. but you have to test them in same ambient to have a good test

I tried a quad fan setup with the Scythe Mugen 2 and 4xScythe Ultra Kaze 2000rpm and my results were:
From 1 fan pushing to 2 fans in push and pull --> -3ºC load difference.
From 2 fans push and pulling to 4 fans push and pulling --> -1ºc load difference.
So there was no noise/performance benefit. The Ultra Kaze 2000 is rated at 33dBA so you get:
1 fan | 33dBA
2 fans | 33+3=36dBA
4 fans | 33+3+3+3=42dBA
+9dBA to get only a 4ºC difference it's definitely not worth it.

So it seems the 2 fans push-pull is the best performance/noise balance.
Thanks

I have Test With the MUGEN 1 and 4 fans always performed worse then 2, Push Pull FTW!

need to know how many intake case fans your using with it ? I'd put at least 3 intake, top, front, side. I would use more but I don't have the room in my current case.
you could use less powerful cfm fans for the three in front and one milder out fan on the heat sink.
I torn between "4 fans would look cool" and "4 fans would look stupid".![]()

I have 2 ultrakaze 3000's mounted one under, one case side, in my antec 900 case. Its so close to the rear exhaust and top exhaust it works almost like a push pull with 4 fan config. I ve tried 2 kazes, vert and horizontal, push pull, but this _| configuration gives me the lowest temps on my 720 be, max OCCT temp is 35 degrees with a 20 C ambient, and it idles at about 23 (Oc'd right now to 3.5ghz, 1.475v)
here s the config
Probably be even better if my mobo gave me a bit more clearance between the gfx card... although i do have another kaze 3000 on the side vent of the case as an intake of cold air so it feeds below the cpu as well. And no i don't go crazy with noise haha, i have a sunbeam rheobus 6 fan controller, so unless i m benching, rendering or gaming, i have it turned way down, with just one fan controlled by bios cpu![]()

Hmm, I'm thinking that if there are two adjacent fans blowing into the heatsink, the air blowing from the side of one fan would conflict with the air from the other fan that is on its side.
For 4 fans, it seems that the best way to do it without there being any air conflict would be 1 push fan and 3 pull fans. Yes, only 1 push fan, while 3 others pull.
But that probably would not make much of a difference than a simple push-pull using 2 fans.
For the quietest operation with low-rpm fans, having 4 fans could certainly make a difference while only adding a little bit of noise, as long as the rpm is really low.

Yeah there abouts... thats with only 3 cores, and all my KAZES running full blast, so the two on the cooler, one intake on the side, 2 intakes on the front, and one exhaust in the back with a 240mm exhaust on the top of the casenot quiet at this level, but its only for benching, or gaming when the ambient from summer goes way up ^^ At normal quiet speeds, ie 1200rpm instead of 3000, it idles about 6-8 C above ambient

I'm not surprised. I've got a Mugen 2 on a AMD 720 with a single Yate Loon Medium and Core Temp shows idle at 15C (Ambient 18C). Core Temp showed CPU temp at 24/25C after ten minutes of Prime95. A quick BIOS check showed CPU temp of 27C, so it's a pretty darn good cooler.
The temperature sensor in Phenom II is slightly messed up, it is off by ~+10 degrees I believe. I measured the IHS temperature which is typically within a degree or two of the core temperature and figured an offset between 10 degrees resulted in appropriate temperature sensing compared to what it says temperatures are at.
