Great stuff... good job ocing on air... did you lap true or i7?

I was able to OC my qx9650 to 4.7ghz on air as well... That's pretty similar as 9650 is rated at 3.0ghz versus 3.33 for i7...

    But anyways, good job.

    Damn nice
    I don't know why, but I fear my 975 might be degrading already... 4,6 ain't stable any more... also I can't get a 3D06 run at 4,8
So much for Intel's 1,55V Vcore max

My jaw is hanging open, but to be on XS you expect to be surrounded by such excellence, 5GHz on TRUE Air cooling with an i7 975 Engineering Sample

I agree. 5Ghz on air is good.. but do you guys really care about suicide screens?

for me myself I think vantage/06 cpu test is the best way to judge a cpu....

Most likely R2E, like all their WR runs

@ Hoschi: CPU tests at 100MHz more than your 06 WR is promising...

The 4967 is based on the 22 (Non Turbo Multi and the Bootup BClk Used of approx 226).

The 5304 is based on the 23 Multi (Turbo) and another 5 BClk added from software that increased it after the bootup.

Hoschi, those results are Sweet. Xeons kick bigger butt over their Sister big & bad D0 butts.

I am hoping the W3580 will come out also on May 31st with the i7 975.

Then I'll be snagging the Xeon equiv of the i7 975, which is a No Brainer.

It does. V2-V3 Has been benching it and showing screen shots.

Here is a screen shot showing Multi unlocked.

Well if a Retail W3570 has an Unlocked Multi because it is just a Xeon i7 965EE, then a W3580 (which is a Xeon i7 975EE) would have an Unlocked multi also?

Intel has changed the rules for Xeon class CPUs

unlocked multi is now a reality!

Wow, this is good news if all W3570 and W3580 retail will have the unlocked multis. I know all the W3570 and W3580s, both C0/C1 and D0 have been shipping with unlocked multis.
