Stock uncore multi afair is 18x -> and with 200mhz bclck thats 3600mhz. For such a high uncore clock you would need to increase the qpi V and the Ram voltage quite a bit.
    My uncore was @ 4000Mhz (200x20), 200bclk 2:10 multi.
vQPI: 1.495v tried 1.455v, 1.415v no luck, 1.515v seems get worse

I would try 24x uncore, 168bclk, and 12x mem and if that works then it is a problem with the 10x multi. Some have had issues with particular bioses and certain dividers. If that fails to boot, then like Hornet said you need to raise qpi and ram volts, the extra 20 mhz mem and 40mhz uncore may not sound like much but you are getting up there where a little more uncore matters.
Thanks for the advice. Seems the plan is to sort out if the uncore that matters. However I think I've tried 2:8 divider with 20x uncore multi but it worked without a problem, will try to confirm that later.
I've tried 4400Mhz uncore by accident, with vQPI 1.495v it can boot up but just the response is kinda slow. and of course it's unstable.
UPDATE: I've test the 199 bclk 2:10 divider and it seems worked. Somehow the memtest didn't show up any errors nor any "unhandled exceptions" and passed the first loop of test without a single error. Again waiting to confirm that...

ok 168 bclk, 2:12 multi, 24x uncore multi Test passed without errors.
went back to 199 bclk, 20x uncore multi, flower screen of death when testing. Reboot and test again, stucked at test 1. wondering why the result doesn't make any sense...

Hey, found this problem suddenly, didn have it before, but now it has popped up..

this function that enables keyboard in DOS, like a week ago, having it enabled was working good, but lately the comp wont load windows with it enabled.
same bios as before also, but have tried others, and then allways coming back to F5G.

Anyway, when it starts to load, the logo shows, and it is about to initiate the mouse and keyboard, they first gets shutdown from DOS mode or something, then it will initiate them again, but now they only blink 1s, and dies, and it wont work unless i disable this in bios.

    what could have happened?

    I got myself a new i7 920. 3841A. One that can do 4.2 GHz HT (handpicked) (UD5 @ F6 bios)

But somehow it wont on my board :S. i'm now running 3933 MHz 1.35v in bios so its 1.25v load. And my core temp is 81c max for the worst core and 77 for the best. I think this is way to high. I got a mugen 2000 cooler. The heatsink is only 43c at full load. (mesured the lowest point of the cooler. Could not get closer to the cpu.)

I used multiple tools: Hardwaremonitor, Coretemp and Real temp all the same high values. I already remounted the cooler but the contact seems to be fine.

Anyone that has some tips / things i can check ? i realy want to get 4.2 GHz at 1.4v But it seems that not possible on this board. (the other person had a Asus)

But it also could be the fact that i'm running Vista X64. I wil try Win XP 32 tonight to see if its more stable then.

Out of curiosity, was the other person that had it at 4.2 HT using water or air? Changing your OS is not going to get you there. If you are at 1.25Vload and those temps...enabling LLC and getting a better cooler either water, or a true (or equivalent) with 2 jet engine fans plus dropping your ambients by 10+C might. Also, CPUZ just reads the mobo sensors, and each mobo is going to have slightly different voltages, so 1.42 on one board might be same voltage as 1.41 on another, even if the same board/brand. I think the ASUS has tighter LLC as well, so it might be closer to 1.4 bios and 1.4 load vs gig 1.43 bios equals 1.4 load, which simply means you may have to use 1.43bios on gig board for the equivalent of 1.4bios on Asus, plus any board to board variance. But your current cooling/ambients are going to need to improve first.

He was using a Thermalright True Cooler. My Mugen 2000 should be able to get similar results. He was only hitting 65c load. But i believe that was a non HT test on 4.0 for 100% stability testing. I will try to get those numbers tonight.

What are you guy's getting on good air cooling ?

And something else. That Turbo boost in the bios. Is that only boosting core 1 to the 21x multi ? of are all cores on the GA UD5 boosted to 21x ?

turbo is all cores, not just 1. All active cores will be at the same speed.

You may drop 8-10C for HT off, and other person may have been in a cool basement, ie 5-10C lower ambients, etc...I would try to find out ambients as well. But if chip needs 1.4 for 4.2 with HT, air will be a challenge.

Yeah it seems but i had the idea that i should be getting lower temp's. I see people bensh 4.2+ on air. (with prime and stuff) so it should be possible.

Does anyone have luck on running 200bclk with 2000Mhz DDR3 Memory on this board?

More PCIE frequency if your cards can handle it.

How much did you give your PCIe Freq?

My cards do not like higher PCIE freq. But I know for a fact, that PCIE freq. is what causes the 222 bclck wall.

    Try it.

I tried to do this, but with Bclk 224 and 105MHz PCIe, there was no chance to boot!

It's 1:42 PM man. My time zone is 5 hours behind London so I'm guessing it's around 8pm where you are?

You need around 105-110 to get into the 230 bclck range it seems.

    Will them be damaged?

As long as you're not increasing the PCIE voltage than the failure will just result in a bad post, possibly a cmos reset and there is always the risk of scrambling your HDD's when adjusting bus speeds.

If you have more than one card, I would pull one out and test PCIE freq. Much less stress.

    Very cool!!!
The 215MHz are running right now.

The Vcore is not adjusted right now, it will probably go a little lower!

Guys, how can you change PCI-E freq on this mobos? All my tries end up with no boot and BF debug code. Tried every good bios from F4j to F7c. Is there a special dark ritual or something to make even 101 Mhz PCI-E possible?
