Just picked up my first i7 system got it at less than 50% of the marketed value...I know, I am going to get a hard time because it is a Dell, but really I am just buying for the parts

DELL, STUDIO XPS 435MT, BLACK/GREY INTEL(R) CORE(TM)I7-920 PROCESSOR (2.66GHZ, 8MB), 4096MB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHZ MEMORY RAM, 512MB ATI(R) RADEON(TM) HD 4850 DUAL DVI OUT, 16X DVD + /-RW WITH DUAL LAYER WRITE CAPABILITIES, INTEGRATED GIGABIT ETHERNET 10/100/1000, 500GB SATA 3.0GB/S HARD DRIVE WITH NATIVE COMMAND QUEUING

Now this will be my number 1 cruncher had to do it really for the price...I agree that Dell's might not be the greatest place to start, but the current cost of the CPU + memory is equivalent to what I paid for the lot

And Dave, I like the idea of you in a Tan Pie
