Is it possible to run two 9800GX2's (not in SLI) on a P5Q Pro mobo? I am trying to do this, but the only way that it will work is if I clear the CMOS every single time I reboot. If I don't clear CMOS, it will not even post into the BIOS. I just get a blinking cursor on the screen. I'm running the 1613m BIOS.

After playing around with the 2001m bios for the Deluxe I have to say that it's working out for me very well. I have been playing around and have not had anything freeze up on me so far. I'm pretty happy now this is working out well.
Once again thanks, Ket. Good work

If I put the mBIOS be something that can improve on my voltages?

Flashed my Pro from 1613m to 2002m yesterday. The flash went very smoothly, no glitches. Quickly set it up to my previous highest stable settings,(464x9.5) no errors on P95 for an initial 1 hr run.

As you reported, it's stable, but it was before at these settings so I tried some different clock settings and different multis. Nothing beyond 464 FSB runs stable (fails P95 or OCCT very quickly).
As for all the other settings, Pll, timings, voltages, etc., I have spent months testing them to get the appropriate combination for this board.

So, pretty much the same overclocking results with the newer bios. I know this is all limited by this Asus board itself as I have had this cpu with all of the other parts I am using beyond 500 FSB stable on a DFI P45 Lanparty board. Nothing much a bios flash can do for that.

However, I am experimenting with a small boost in the ram, previously it didn't like to go much over the rated 1066MHz, it was at 1:1 for 928MHz, now at 5:6 for 1115MHz, so far so good.

And, of course, my thanks to Ket

Thats where I notice the major difference in stability with my memory. It's good to hear that it's working out out you. I just hate running my ram at 1:1 to be honest. I don't care what anyone says there is definetly a noticeabbe difference in performance.

Yes, there is a boost for sure when you can bump up the ram speed, I think that's where Ket's bios mods provide a lot of the benefit. In my case I think that's the final performance boost I can get now by bumping up the ram speed. With this hardware

@8800 2001m works great for me on my Deluxe. Also if your going to bump up you VTT that much with the same GTLrefs then your GTLv is probably too high now.

This BIOS is great, I still have more trouble stabilizing blck 471, still the same voltages as before:

    471 * 6.0x

    vCore 1.30v

    PLL 1.54v
    GTL 1 - 0.63x
    GTL 2 - 0,68
    VTT - 1.40v
    vNB - 1.44v
    NB GTL - 0.66x

    Is not stable.

Well, I did notice at least with loadline that this bios feeds more VCC than the previous bios that I was using 1702 and 1406. You may need to fine tune your GTLs as well since that can make all the difference in the world.

I don't see why you would need that much vNB, you shouldn't need more than 1.30 or 1.32 tops. VTT also seems high it should be a little closer to your vcc. Try 1.32. You might want to set your PLL to 1.56 since I've read that anything lower overvolts knd of like auto, but I don't own a DMM so I can't really test that out for myself. Try your cpu GTLs at 0.65 ish and your NB GTL at 0.64.

    Hi All

Just got my PQ5-E to replace me battered 680i, semi stable at 3.4 ghz with q6600 G0 (378x9 333 strap, 2x 2g corsair 8500 @908) - currently stability testing, however i figured i may as well push the FSB and memory out before settling on a proper stability 24/7 run.

Problem im having is trying to find a decent fsb to settle at which is pushing my ram - was running the original latest asus bios, now 1909 ket bios - reason i updated is my 400 fsb strap still not working. I noticed that ket mentioned in the 1st few pages that he was having problems, i havent got the time really to go through 75 pages to pick out odds n sods of info - did anyone get to the bottom of it?? (Mine = no post / bios reset on 400 strap).

It seems by using the 333 strap for testing i can run at 470 fsb (tested with 6x multi so far) - in addition to that 400 fsb thingy, anyone have any tips or a couple of settings / ranges to try out (cpu wont go much over 3.4 @ 1.485 V bios / 1.408 v droop windows).

I was using the 1406 ASUS Bios (I think) for my P5Q pro. I could overclock my q9450 to 3.6Ghz and leave P95 on for 2 days without any errors. Yet I still came across some random bluescreens every once in a while. I was not above the factory spec of my memory so I hadn't really tested the memory. I tried running memtest and it fails instantly. It doesn't give any errors, it just reboots my PC =/ . It works for 1 module, I can test my modules seperately, but not in dual channel. I simply CANNOT get memtest to run on my PC with 2 modules.

So I figured I'd try this BIOS since I reckon the problem is in the mobo somewhere. Though I'm still having the exact same problem.... I installed the 2002 version of the mBIOS. Should I try a different mBIOS version? I'm at a complete loss for what to do at the moment .. =(

I'm starting to hate this motherboard ... I'm running everything BELOW spec and it says overclocking failed on a reboot =/.

EDIT: It does work when I set memory speed to 667 Mhz. But in Memtest it says the memory speed is 445Mhz (DDR890) .. This is making absolutely no sense to me.

    1. Fix pc probe II will show 0 RPM when chassis fan_3 speed is lower than 700RPM.
    2. Fix system may take too long time to boot when cerian optical disc drive is connected and no disc is inside.
    3. Update the DriverXpert option ROM to support 48bit LBA addressing.

You have the same value for both the NB & FSB, try changing 1 or the other. I would try your cpu gtl's. It's harder to start high and figure out problems than to start low and work your way up "ironing out" problems.
