Crossfire Ability? Regular S1366 holes/mounting or no? Contacted uber SetFSB guy yet with the pll? You know I'm just as excited as you to see results, I just wish I could have the actual hardware infront of me.

Core 2 Duo(Conroe) was based on the Intel Core Duo(Yonah) which was based on the Pentium M(Banias) which was based on the Pentium III(Coppermine).

Core 2 Duo is a Pentium III on meth.

    1) Lian Li V2000.. PITA to work with
    2) Board was never designed to take TRUE's..
    3) So I figure I'll go right to water.
Backplates over the cpu's permanently attached to board with attached threaded section that goes thru the board.
You think the screws that came with my waterblocks will fit? Nope..
That tiny threaded end of the TRUE's will thread into that section but thats it..
So heatsinks will thread but they don't fit and waterblocks will fit but they won't thread..
And they say "The Luck of the Irish"
    yea, all bad..

You have always wanted to GET IT from Australia, but like I said, I am not going to give anything to you

I am sure you can work it out Dave.

So, we only need to see if it works/how hard we/you can bring it .

Once you get this up and running your gonna need to tell us if you can play around with the various multipliers. Oh and, now you got Canada on your ass as well

Buy a single socket i7 unless your back yard has one of those money trees that I've spent my life looking for!

With the case being so big, I am surprised you are running into problems.

What is it with that case and I am wondering if other Lian Li cases suffer from the same issues, as I am looking to get a Lian Li case(not the V2000).

Look at my avatar, look at the socket at bottom left..
Picture a true on it vertical, bang, nails the mid tray in the V2000..
Look at socket at mid right, picture TRUE on it vertical, covers first PCI-E X16 slot..
That's just for starters and don't say to mount vertical as that absolutely kills the air flow..

Has anyone thrown Dunnington at it? I've been itching to get that 24 CPU monster machine folding or doing something.

Don't know the board off hand, it's a SM though, looks identical to your pics. We are seeing some strange and horrible latency with our primary app compared to dual X5472.

That is what I like to hear! Now, if you can use regular DDR3 then I hope Intel makes another Skulltrail.

The only benchmar I've seen, the SAP, showed a dual Nehalem JUST a tad slower than a 24 core dunnington.
Really? Now that surprises the hell out of me.
Makes me wonder what app, memory and cpu's are in your Gainestown,
I have a SM X7DWA-N here with 2-X5470's and it is fast, running at 3600, but the benchmarks for the Gainestown should kill it.

Yea, but we don't know if SetFSB will work yet.
There are 2 PLL controllers on the board, or at least 2 ICS chips and one, the main one that is in SetFSB connects to the second.
According to what I've read the type of memory is all up to the board manufacturer.
As the first post here showed, that guy tried regular DDR3-2000 and it worked BUT at 1333 speed..
If I'd known that I wouldn't have bought ECC Registered mem..

performance will really depend on applications, the ones you are looking for yes all your x5470 benches will be crunched by the new gainestown you are building. looking at your price tag it looks to me like you have the x5570 or x5580 in your system, nice i only have the e5520 ones, enough for daily things, but no real wr performance crunching parts.
