Just went through your old worklog and now I know what to expect.....pure awesomeness

Keep it up, the pictures really make me want to get the case and mod it for a secondary computer.

tried that routing the pcie cable that way before..
    couldnt reach the card..
also curious since u have two free blue 12v connectors on the psu..
isnt it cleaner and nicer to use the moudalr black cables that comes with the hx1000??? for the gc pcie and cpu 8 pin

I’m not sure how you routed them but for my setup they should be long enough. There’s always extension cables lol.

Ultimately I want to minimize the number of cables in the case. At some point I plan to single sleeve the PSU cables so that should make them more presentable.

Its great to be building again! I live for this stuff!

The CNC is coming along nicely; I have to get the parts I designed cut via water jet. Very expensive ($800) so I’m still getting some quotes. I also acquired a new drill press and built a vacuum press/clamping system(Capable of over 21 atmospheres :o).

    Current setup:

I’m moving to a larger space when I get back to Minnesota.

    Impulsive moment…….

    Just ordered:
    murderMod MDPC-X Psychopack
Pin Extractor: Deluxe (+ 24.39 USD)
Accent Sleeving: +10ft of 1/4 inch Red (+ 4.88 USD)

I’m still debating whether or not the red spinner for the EK reservoir is really needed. (I’m sure I’ll get it eventually lol)

    Update:

    UPDATE:
The radiator mounting, as simple as it is, has been stressing me out. It’s too close when the ports are facing the case and too sharp of an angle when they’re facing away. I guess given the radiator (TFC 240) and the fans (s-flex) what kind of performance differences will I see between these setups?

    Performance-PCs Shipment:
    murderMods order:

AAHHHHH!!! The EK BAY RESERVOIR spinners I ordered are the WRONG COLORS!!! I guess I’ll just have to stick with the white spinner. I’ve been toying with a few designs which incorporate them in a custom flow meter….

It looks like the D5 Mod kit might have some aesthetic defects. Hopefully they can be cleaned off easily. I wasn’t expecting the kit to make the D5 this big!! Ultimately it looks better so I plan to stick with it.

In truth, I’m not entirely sure what I had intended for the custom bios reset switch……don’t worry I’ve got some ideas I’m still playing around with so I’m not going to spoil the surprise just yet. Ha ha

I received my murdermods order and it’s topnotch as always! I’m suffering because I’m stuck sitting here with 200ft of custom sleeving and I have yet to receive my hot knife!!!!
-Update: I started using it…..ghetto style and I’ve already burned through 80ft

    Newegg Shipment

    Silverstone has let me down……..
Their SST-CP05 cables are rubbish…..By this I mean they are total . Not only are they poor quality but they are riddled with defects and pose an electrical hazard. Let me be very clear, the right angled adapter that is included with the case appears to be acceptable quality. I contacted Silverstone about ordering more of the right angled versions but was told they were unavailable. I’m just so infuriated; I mean what the hell am I going to do now? I will have hot swappable bays; it’s just going to take more work than I had expected.

    MNPCTECH Shipment
*Note* the red and silver vinyl was included as samples

The matte black is to cover the logos on the back of the 120mm fans.

I plan to use the gloss black to cover the DVD Drive

So I finally find the radiator grill that I’ve been looking for and what happens? It doesn’t fit. FML

No one has any comments about my previous questions? Seriously?

I’ve been busy finalizing the order to get the parts for my custom cnc cut via waterjet so they will be ready when I return to MN.

I’ve also been working on a side project that unfortunately may not be a feasible as originally planned.
Awhile back I was amazed and inspired by the Optimus Tactus but totally put off by the price; so I started my own concept. Like all my concepts, I feel I must build it, here comes the fun. I’ve been searching for a supplier for a couple of 7” or larger touch screens. They must be relatively inexpensive, slim, and possess multi touch capabilities. I have been looking at a few on ebay that come with an arm9 development board. Unfortunately multi touch capable touch screen are relatively new and very expensive….

    As for my current build:

    Waiting on parts AGAIN….

I want to drill out all of the rivets (I believe a 1/8 drill bit is what is commonly used) and replace them with black screws….Can anyone tell me what size screws I need or recommend any places that stock them?

Yo, I cannot answer the dominator fan question since I don't have one. With the rivet question, M3 bolt and nut worked for me. You could tap the hole but I like nuts.

    Update

Just as I was leaving for class, another package arrived. Even though I was running late, I decided to just bring it with. Inside was the two San Ace Fans I ordered. Unfortunately one of them had a broken fin and support bracket………..so after some X-ACTO work it’s now a shroud. Ha ha

I’m debating whether or not to replace the 4 S-Flex fans for two Sanyo Denki San Ace fans.

I’m debating which fan I should use for the case exhaust.

Here are a few stills from my reservoir testing. This test setup was also used to observe the effects of having a 90 fitting connected to the pump intake.

I also shot a brief video demonstrating the effects of varied flow rates. Because this is XS I even shot the footage in HD!!! Unfortunately my HD camera uses a proprietary file format and I don’t have the software to convert the files. Hopefully this will just be a minor delay.
