after i finished testing this board i spoke to chew about the pi performance he said its off alot, also running 3d06 with 3412nb - 3600 yielded no gains @ 4.9ghz so there is a issue with nb performance

and my best pi time@same speed with msi is 13.422, but on the giga the best time was 13.343

so there a performance issue right now but msi has been cranking out bioses so they are addressing issues

Here's a comparison for those that may question my reasons for saying what I say. With the memory and NB speeds being run on those boards, versus the cruddy ram and NB speeds I ran in this bench it should be a landslide and its not...

I have the same exact results with applications ranging from AutoCad 2009 to Sony Vegas Pro 8.1. It simply comes down to the fact that the current platform does just fine with the bandwidth/latency afforded by DDR2 for 95% of us.

So what is the issue at hand with Chew then? I'm right confused.

The issue is the ddr III + northbridge speeds should offer I wider margin of performance gap and its not. If i tried really hard I probably could match or beat times.....the performance gap should be wider IMHO, I just dont think due to bios support that clock per clock they have tapped into the performance of the chips yet....that was done on my gigabyte 790GX, PI is its weakest performing bench.

3600NB speeds should shave a few 10ths off 3400 NB speeds and its not.....the efficiency isn't up to par yet.
