Judging by the CCC limits for HD4870 which was 790MHz I would say 1050-1100MHz should be doable on most samples. We all know that most early HD4870 was doing 820-860MHz out of the box with a proper airflow.
I'm looking forward to this card. Personally I might skip it and wait for RV870, but in general it looks like perfect upgrade for someone still ridding older than HD48xx or GF8800 series
