zsamz, thank u for giving me a reply on this. i also found these post codes at clunk's. spoke to dfi tech support and i'm rma'ing.
    Code:
    http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/hardware/3203-dfi-bios-guide-intel-chipset-based-motherboards.html#post12434

i do have another question, possibly you or another member could help me with.

clunk's also has voltage measures for the x38 which is similar to the p35,
    Code:
    http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/hardware/4172-dfi-x38-x48-voltage-measuring-points.html#post14972
question is: at what place do i put the red/black leads on my multimeter to correspond to the mobo vDimm voltage points? is it just as simple as putting the leads red/black to the plus/minus on the mobo? like red-lead = mobo-plus and vice-versa.

hopefully i explained this correctly.thanks in advance.

P.S.= i understand that if i do this and fry my mobo i'm the one to blame. hopefully i won't though.

I can't seem to get out of it, I did a 6 hour CMOS clear and still nothing.

    Thanks
hi, i noticed the "88" happening to me since about a month ago.
    why this happens
spoke with dfi support and was told:
    1. Memory.
    2. Power supply.
    3. Bios corrupted.
    4. Motherboard failing.

tried different ram, different psu and different bios'es . nothing got rid of the "88".
try this link for more info about dfi post codes:
    Code:

    hope this helped.

The string of three gtl numbers must be adjusted so a Measured GTL is a [specific]% of Vtt. Measurements must be taken.
The Three numbers more closely resemble the actual % [with 45 nM only]but are not exact and actual increments will change anyway as you use change Vtt.Do you have a meter?

BTW I really dig that SIG you're running! It looks pretty sweet especially with that RAID setup and all

I have a really good fluke meter but i wouldnt even no where to start in testing the vtt , but what your saying im guessing is if i know the exact vtt then the 3 gtls can be adjusted specific to the it , but lets say im taken a guess and the vtt is slighty off from what im reading in smartguardian , would 61 61 63 be a good place to start , and just raise the values of the gtls everytime my prime falls to lets say a safe point maxing at 67 67 69 ?
45m proc geesh lol ... thanks on the compliment of my signature
the cheapest part of my system that gave the biggest notice where those two western digital drives "wd64000aaks" in raid man do they fly . I saw you have that 4870 good choice , if i had a chance i go back and get the 4870 4870 x2 was a bit of overkill , and a power hog for sure its crippling my hx620 a bit and giving my a nasty vdroop on my vcore , that i didnt have with my 9800 gx2

    Check out edgeofstability.com
That's where you can find the measurement points and really get cooking! The readings in SG can be a little off-proper readings are crucial for good GTL tuning but if you get the right settings anyway then WOOT. The only SG part that is rather accurate seems to be the Vcore.
You might also think about going lower to 53 53 54 ish-it really depends on your board and VTT. Going lower-but w/in 63-61%Vtt- can duck under the ringback noise created by higher Vtt and higher MHz since the Intel GTL spec tops out at 400FSB.

Oh BTW @ Zsamz I have gotten up to 1162/2.4=484*9=4.356GHz Semi-stable as of last week. You inspired this! I can Game but I get random reboots when in desktop idle I have SET FSB up to 500 in windows just long enough to get an Everest bench 10K+ read/Write 9500 Copy t51.8nS Just over 10S in super Pi 1M like 10.014 IDK on diff PC right now. 5-5-5-15@2.26V Trfc 44 Trd8 all phases pulled in to 7
    Vcore 1.36V-load droop to 1.35V Vdroop disabled Vtt1.385V 53-53-54 GTL Vnb 1.45V
IBT is too hot with current cooling so IDK about qualifying with that right now Just going for max Gaming stable for curiosity's sake without using too much volts.
I have hit 4.4GHz Max with 9.5 Multi on 463 FSB on same Volts if it helps.
*SIGH* the loss in Bandwidth between 422*2.4=1013(current) and about 463*2.4=1111 due to Trd and CAS change has driven me to Go Big or Go Home LOL so it has been fun pushin' the envelope. That's what it's all about right
I have played Crysis and HL2 DM at 484 so far but I get a reboot during Prime95 before first loop is done though This is after 4-6 hours Memtest86+ ver.2.01 stable and Zero problems actually booting into windows
Any suggestions Zsamz or anyone? Do I need to give more Bios settings?
    This board is awesome!

start by bumpin nb volt by 0.2-0.5v i'm @ 1.52 24/7 n make sure you keep nb cool
set to a lesser memory settin ex:aggressive /more aggressive
    play with gtl settings +-2
btw if you add a second fan to your 9500 you will get better temps i had modded mine with a higher cfm 120mm fan

Thanks for the tips I will add a little more NBvolts and see if I can get more airflow however I have my 9500 mounted with vertical airflow since I haven't yet buckled down and cut out a small space on NB HS. I forgot to mention I already have the More aggressive setting on both channels and clock crossing.
That seemed to help get me this high so far. My NB temp is OK in Windows so far with that Tricool blowing on it but I miss my 110 CFM Scythe-blade broke due to operator error. I am prepared to get a better fan if necessary-Spring is here and with it comes higher ambient in California.
Are you saying the reboots might be rooted in NB issues? 'Cause if they are I will use a hammer on NB-hammers always work for P35 J/K
    Seriously though

Okay guys, after testing couple of variatons of FSBs, multipliers and dividers I think that NB doesn't like me at all. Im stable at 444x8 but not with 500x8, I've tried as high as 1.57 vNB. Could my NB degrade? When I got this board I used insane voltages to NB, I even used 1.63 vNB. Could it have degraded my NB? With 1.57vNB my load temps to NB are 54 and at idle about 50. How hot can I keep it?

So you have aftermarket NB cooler? Should I use transpiper? imho it doesnt help much, but I have 60mm fan that I could put to NB heatsink to move some air through it, ill test that. Could too hot NB cause instability?
Should I change TIM between the NB and heatsink?

E: Rotated Xigmatek so it cools NB a little too, temps dropped from 52 to 42, and I think this works better now.

anyone have any idea why my board wont oc at all. if i put the cpu vid at 1.3 or higher it wont boot at all. if i raise the fsb at all it wont boot either. i cant even set it at 280 fsb. the pc will just sit starting and shuting off after about 3 min. i had another p35 tr2 about a year ago and it worked fine. i had this q6600 oced at right over 4 ghz on phase but now i have a new p35 tr2 and its on water but i cant change anything in bios and have it boot. i flashed to the newest bios with still no luck. another thing cpz says my multi is at 6 under system properties it has it right (2.4 ghz). any ideas?

Looks like my P35 died somehow. I had it on open air benching just last week and it was fine, and it has been off since then. Decided to put it into PC #2 in place of the DK X48, got everything connected, powered it on and...nothing. The POST code LEDs don't even light up. Cleared CMOS, disconnected everything, used a different CPU, blah blah. It's a goner. Time for an RMA I suppose.

i think mines due for a rma also it wont ever run stock settings. for some reason the muti stays at 6 and you also cant change the boot devices order.

I've got an off the wall question... should I take a look at a dual-core processor, with this board? I've had quads in it since I first bought the board and haven't looked back. I'm thinking about giving a 8600 a shot and see if I can get to the 4.6-4.8GHz area.

What's your thoughts... thanks in advance.

I think this board will scream with an E8x00 CPU. I'm still waiting for my RMA replacement
