    Hi truehighroller,

I also think, that IBT is a good stability test, but IBT doesn't test the board voltages like VNB. To find out the right VNB and VTT, you should use Prime95 "In-place large FFTs". With IBT you can check the VCore, instead of using Prime95 "Small FFTs". But imo Prime95 still is the best programm to test the stability of OC.

oh sorry i didnt saw that^^

    1. try:
AI Clock Twister [Strong] > Moderate
    CPU PLL Voltage [1.50] > 1.56v
    SBridge Voltage [1.10] > Auto
PCIE SATA Voltage [1.50] > Auto

--> But now I get Memtest Errors after 0.5min^^ So i think PLL is too high ?

    Next try:
    above Sttings +
    CPU PLL Voltage [1.56] > 1.52v
    C1E [Enabled] > [Disabled]
AI Clock Twister [Strong] > Moderate

    --> Memtest Errors after 4min I think 1.5 i also to high^^ I need 1.48

    Next try:
    above Sttings +
    CPU PLL Voltage [1.52] > 1.50v

    --> 2 Errors after 30min I NEED LESS PLL!

    Next try:
I took the 2 OCZ Reaper from Slot A1 and B1 to A2 and B2
    and used the following Settings:
    CPU PLL Voltage [1.50]
    AI Clock Twister [Moderate]
FSB Strap to North Bridge [333]
    DRAM Frequency [1021]
    NB Voltage [1.26]
    Common Performance Level [8]
    MEM. OC Charger [Disabled]
all others like in my first post

--> seems stable! o0 it is so strange, because i already tested these Settings and they weren't stable (Memtest Error 0.5min) but now they are stable. But why because i changed the memory place or because NB Voltage is lower now? I also need so less Vnb

Hey guys, which BIOS for my P5Q-E is best for overclocking my Q6600 G0? I'm on m1703 now, but I can't get my CPU stable at 8x475...

Pretty weird. Seems like Disabling the OC Charger may be key. I'd try the ram in the normal slots again to see what gives.

No it wasnt the MEM OC Charger... now I enabled MEM OC Charger and it is also stable! I think more than 1.26 Vnb is too high, because some other people have also problems with Vnb higher than 1.26 strange but i think that was the key

    Hey Ket,

I hear ya there! I had my OC nice and stable with your help ... started noticing that it would try to come out of standby and crash at night.

Put it back to stock to try to resolve it (checking OC) but it didn't.

Friday, my PC wouldn't boot again. Same thing as the last board! Tried cmos reset, power off without battery and cmos reset for 24 hours, but nada. This thing is dead again!

I've had 8 days of use in the 48 days I've owned it!

Never had this much problems with any peice of hardware I've ever bought, and I've been building systems for 10 years !

Well, can't say that ... I had a bummed PSU once, took me a week to figure it out, but at least that system booted !

Time for another RMA. Maybe they'll upgrade me to a P5Q-E? I am a reviewer and IT guy .. I'll just throw some techno gumble at them !

I'll let you know how it all goes .

    Asus.

Also I noticed that you don't have the original 0806 in your pack, that was indeed the best one for me besides for the 1406 just like leophold had said as well a couple of pages back.
The "new" 806 in the mod pack is the same as the original, just with a more updated memory table and P6 table

Will there be a BIOS MOD for the i7 ? I am planning to get the i7 for my gaming system and see if there is any bios mod for the asus board before deciding on the X58 board.

Thanks again for all the bios mod KET.
Sorry m8 I don't mod any code if I don't at least have hardware thats similar (and thus, have some degree of familiarity).

Damn that really sucks! I'm on my 3rd P5Q Pro and I have a good feeling about this one, shes a A3 revision You could "snip" the leg on that metal thing near the SB (forget its name) to make absolutely sure the board is dead. Guaranteed to get a bdifferent board then

No no no, I mean it isn't in there. You have the 802 or 3 can't remember but, not the 806. Maybe I am crazy but, I could have sworn it was 802.

    help

    here is my hardware

    p5q-e
    q9550
    OCZ2P10664GK (2x2Gb)
    4870
    vista x64 premium
    625W enermax modu82+

using the new modified bios (1901m if i remember correctly)

my problem is that many times the system doesn't post, i have to repeatedly hit the case reset button and eventually it will. usually just the case fans run, all lights come on etc, gpu fans run etc. but no post. i'm not looking to overclock or anything, just want a standard dependable setup as this is my htpc.

i'm hoping that maybe it's something in the bios settings that i'm missing. i have set the vram to 2.1V, memory 1066mHz, timings to 5-5-5-15 and
    CPU Spread Spectrum [Disabled]
    PCIE Spread Spectrum [Disabled]
    CPU Clock Skew [Auto]
    NB Clock Skew [Auto]
    CPU Margin Enhancement [Performance Mode]

    thanks

Good work Ket!, I too have the A3 revision of the P5Q Pro board, currently running a Q6600 @3.4GHz with 1.4v on air (could probably do 3.6GHz-3.8GHz or more on water), tested with Intel Burn Test without any problems using your modded bios.

Looking forward to your v2xxx mbios.

BIOSes will be up in a bit, I'm feeling lazy so they will all be bundled into one archive. If your looking for the P5Q-E latest mBIOS, its in the main mBIOS pack. Check first page for DL link.

    Changes:

Same as usual only this time the Maximus 2 Formula memory table has been used.
