your work rocks dude. i see so many innovative quirks in the piping that seems very nice and i have not seen in any other build (IE the discharge loop from the compressor, et cetera. i can't wait to see this thing brazed, i really can't!

    cheers!

    Very nice and clean build.
But why do you use these long automotive hoses with all the adapters instead of using normal refrigeratin hoses? Shorter hoses make your the vaccum times shorter.

Put the filter in the second stage before the HX. It is useless when the refrigerant is unter 0°C.

Very nice pipe-work, should be very interesting to see all the pipes painted. Would be interesting to see a 3 or 4 stage build with the piping, compressors, and condensers all different colors

Agreed. Not necessarily useless but diminished in it's chemical filtration. It'll still trap any small bits of debris.

Woa that nickel plating is very cool. I wonder if it will actually make a difference lol. When do you think you will have the time to get it on a unit?

Oh lol. Well thats a really cool/good idea. I think ill try that. The process is similar to anodizing aluminum, no?

Edit - Does the nickel bond to the silver braze easily just like the copper or do I need to do something different for that?

I'm not sure, but i think nickel on evap was made by electroless method.

Brazing is simple like copper to copper. I used normal hard soldering pipes (silver).

Yes I did a little more research on nickel plating and it is done by electrolysis (like anodizing alu), but i was wondering, I mean, I know you braze together joints with silver, but when you are doing the electrolysis do you need a different solution or something to get the nickel to bond to the silver brazed joints?

    Get what im saying?

aa sorry, I didn't know what did you mean previously.

You don't need nothing special when doing electrolysis on brazed piece, nickel gets on every metal without problem.

Before nickel plating you just clean with acid (remove fat stains).
