I am not hell bent, I just spent about 30 seconds updating the bios, another 30 seconds changing ACC to "auto", and another 30 seconds starting OCCT.

I've had this mobo/cpu for weeks and this is the first time I've made an attempt to unlock it. I purchased them together on release day before unlocking was even known. I did this just out of sheer curiousity.

It looks so far that I got one of the good chips that just has a disabled core to be sold as an X3, which is further confirmed by how many have had luck with 0904's.

If I have a good fourth core that I can enable with little to no effort and no negative consequence, can you give me a good reason why I should not enable it?

Obviously that didn't matter to Gigabyte because yesterday they just added bios F3b "Update ACC code for Phenom X3 CPU" that enables unlocking.

edit: Also, nobody ever seemed to be upset about people unlocking geforce 6800's via bios mod, how is this any different?
