I have an E8400 and an E8600. The E8400 clocks significantly higher. So I'm not so sure about this "binning" that Intel is supposedly doing for the higher rated SKUs. After all the only binning they need to be doing is down at the 3Ghz end of things. Up at 4Ghz+ that may not count for much. It certainly hasn't in my case. In my case the 3.33Ghz rating didn't buy me anything at all compared to 3Ghz, and it's not hard to imagine why. An E8700 would just be a waste of money IMHO.
