Here is where I am now...Happy with this as it is stable at the limit..
One more click on SetFSB & SuperPi 32M will crash.
cheapseats & ci2kla, thank you for your help..

    Hi Neo mike,
I am not sure if you are aware that the triple channel memory requires much lower voltage and based on this the non i7 boards might dangerously oversupply the triple channel DDR3.
Perhaps someone else here on the forum can shed more technical know how than myself.

OK my board went nuts again
I've switched my memory from D9GTS to D9JNL (crucial value stick without heatspreaders)
Try clocking pass 1460Mhz CAS 7-7-7-21 with 1.67v and still freezes in memtest86+. Sometimes there's an wierd error message looks like "Interruption Halt" or something.
OK then I swtiched back my memory to D9GTS and apply the OC profile that I've proved stable, reboot...WTF? No screen displaying? LCD Poster stucked at "CHECKCPU"?....
I've tried 0801 0901 1003 BIOS and of course no luck
Then I changed the clock skew from 400/200 to 400/normal and it freakin booted to windows, even passed IBT 10 loop like before...clock skew...makes my head skew...

    triple channel

I have personally run i7 memory on my stiker 2 extreme in dual channel with no problems at all, and it overclocked really well, wondering about this board, seems very picky with memory, and im thinking of buy this board.

    hi neo mike

wondered about the elpida IC myself, as the adata 2133 are rated for ~ 2V, but even if possible with GT or blades, 7-8-7 timings are not the best for RE. The other thing is vNB: to get higher CL7 clocks than good micron can do already, and run minimum tRD, vNB is going through the roof. if you raise tRD then you may as well run CL8, as Read bandwidth will be about the same.

i know it wasn't your question but the crucial kit in your sig looks well suited to RE - from the GTR/GTS timings anyway..

Yeah my crucials are nice, they will do 2090mgz cas 8 on my board, but not stable, 2040mgz is best i can do, which is not bad. But im looking for a new board, and im liking this rampage board alot. I would love to try those 2133 adata on my board, but mucho cash.

    Just got mine

Hey guys. I just got my REX and did a little fsb testing today. Just stuck with the x6 multi and went for raw fsb.

    Setup: All air for now

    E8400 E0 batch Q829A
    Rampage Extreme bios 0901
    Mushkin 2x2gb 1600mhz 7-7-6-18 PL10 for all runs
    vista hp 64-bit
    8800gtx
    Antec 650w

The video card and PSU is just a spare for testing. While testing I found that at 600fsb I could get windows to quit crashing until I changed my CPU/NB skews to 600/400. After that it was gravy. Seems a little off from what most of you guys are running

    Here's my max valid before I called it a night - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=519378

    Bios

    FSB - 600
    Multi - 6
    CPU Skew - 600ps
    NB Skew - 400ps
    NB Strap - Auto
    Ram - 1600mhz
    Timing - 7-7-6-18 1T
    AI Twister - Moderate
    PL - 10
CPU vcore - 1.35v (overkill to eliminate variable)
    PLL - 1.577v (overkill too)
VTT - 1.378v (overkill) could've went back down to 1.3v
    GTL lanes 0 & 1 -45mv
    NB GTL - Auto
NB vcore - 1.577v (didn't test my lower volts after I got stable)
    Ram volts - 1.908v

I'd like to know the same thing. vcore and PLL seems to be right with the bois on mine but the NB and others don't. I also wonder if the temps are correct for the nb too. I saw almost no gain in temps when raising nb volts.

No not right now. I'm just rockin' it with my zalman and stock nb cooling with the fusion block on top. The LCD was reading 44c for the NB @ 1.577v. I was just trying to get a feel for the board for when I do some dice runs.

Thanks I'm still a noob to dice benching so don't expect much. Plus I need another video card for anything respectable. I need some nice 2x1gb sticks before I get try to step on the gas any.

hahaha.... you just gotta talk to it right. You didn't know you gotta call it dirty names when pushing it that hard?

    MEM TO THIS Motherboard ???

    2GB OCZ Flex II XLC DDR3 PC3-16000 (2000MHz)
These premium modules run at incredibly fast 2000MHz speeds at CL8-8-8 timings for added performance to high-end systems with integrated water-cooling. Designed to the very core to offer enthusiasts the thermal management innovation of hybrid water and passive cooling, the new PC3-16000 Flex II Series offers rock-solid stability and performance for your high-end gaming or overclocking system.

The OCZ Flex II heat management solution enables high-frequency memory to operate within an optimal balance of extreme speeds and low latencies without the high temperatures that inhibit or damage the module. Each PC3-16000 Flex II memory module features this breakthrough thermal management technology from OCZ that combines an effective new heatspreader design with integrated liquid injection system and dedicated channels directly over the module's ICs to effectively dissipate heat produced by high-speed memory. This sophisticated series was engineered with a unique "flexible" design to give enthusiasts the option to run the modules passively or water cooled via the thick array of aluminum fins, and the concurrent use of both options promotes maximum heat dissipation.

    Hello cheapseats,
Great setup with your rig & the Corsair RAM. I see you used the 0403 bios for this test..Did you try the 1003? and if so any success?
I am still running my rig at 575FSB x8 at a rock solid 4.6Ghz with the same tight ram settings as published in my previous post.
Also, what prog do you use to display the little blue background window below the Memset one?

hi ragheb, so far i just tested with my old favorite 0403, then to try 0401 as it's reported fastest in 32M. also going to test CL8 on 0403 before i change.

i need to add 0.06V to vDIMM for tRFC 60 @ 950mhz/CL7, so it wasn't a good option for HCI testing
other tight subs are also great for maximizing SPi 32M efficiency, but i don't run anything else myself which shows a benefit. memtest stability might be difficult too..
i'm curious what you've got planned now ragheb, as Intel ssd + iram paging looks great for a 32M setup

Everest OSD: go to File>preferences>OSD Items......choose what you want to see from there, then OSD>show OSD panel.

the road to sub 9 minutes 32M: 40mhz+ saved on CPU clock

same OS and tweaks etc - just tighter memory timings
tRFC 56 possible for either kit but don't yet know if minimum for corsair.

Wow cheapseats. That last test was awesome in terms of the tight timings you are managing with the Corsairs. I see you have upped the voltages on the CPU to 1.528 (what is it in bios?), but what about the rest of the volts settings. surely not as in your 2092 post at 585 FSB!! Also interested to know what your temps are with that voltage on the Noctua..
I will try to replicate your last test but on the 1003 bios to save you time on testing it yourself and obviously if that struggles I will revert to 0403.
I am also trying to learn how I could tweak the SuperPi test using my hardware which I must admit is running at an astonishing HDtach & HDtune results which I will post for kicks soon but my priority now is sub 9 on SuperPi & not 100% sure whether this would need higher FSB or ubberGhz..
    Cheers

Should be good enough for 7/24 use.

Can anyone please help of this suspicious degrading issue?
    This E8500 can do 442x9.5 4199Mhz @1.25v and pass IBT 10 loops
but at 600x7 @1.25 will cause instant fail....
While I've tested 600x7 @1.25 before and no problems at all...
Seems the board is playing me.

    @ragheb

thanks ragheb it's getting tougher now... higher efficiency = higher CPU load, so to achieve the same 32M time, the minimum vcore to pass @ 4973mhz with GTR timings was the same as 5014mhz using JNL timings (1.53V set / LLC on). With looser timings on the corsair, 32M runs ok @ 5014mhz / 1.53V same as cellshock. i also used PLL+SB1.5 = 1.59, vNB = 1.57, vTT = 1.40, GTL0 = +40, skews auto. all ok to finish 32M, but stability beyond that is untested. To run over 1.53V vcore and avoid failure in the first few loops, a few changes were necessary to PLL, vNB and CPUGTL.
cheap cooling: low ambient (~ 1C) + no case...judged CPU temps for the most recent run with fingers on the heatsink base / heatpipes - not too accurate or reliable, but if it feels cool, then ok for me...

    @ci2kla

for this vcore and multi (Edit: 1.25V / 6x) what did you find with PLL / SB1.5 @ 1.51-1.56V (ie below vNB droop) ? cheers
