    PL7 isn't that important. Its when you have to go above PL8 you want to crank NB voltage. You will find you can keep PL7 maybe to around 425-440FSB, but after that for any real degree of stability you have to move to PL8 I've found on any P45.

    pl7 is important
    i can do pl6.5 @ 515fsb @ 440 i can do pl5 on x38 and p35
    pl8 is after 510fsb in my book

    Ket is right about the P45 chipset, I don't think it can do PL7@500FSB. It's usually one PL level higher than P35/X38 for the same FSB.

    Others have already said it in different ways.. but I'll chime in too. How many P45s have you used? I've used 3. All exhibit the exact same behaviour when increasing FSB, PL7 = 440FSB tops, beyond that PL8.

    i seen pl7 higher than 470 on p45
    i only tinkered a p5q pro for 20 min for a freind got him to 450fsb pl7
    i'll get my hands on a ut p45 soon odds are i will do 500fsb pl7

    I didn't want to share this cause it needs some tweaking, but I thought you should see it for yourself:



    I saw 10k across the board at FSB 480MHz but my CPU wasn't up to it at the volts I was comfortable with giving it and it crashed before I could take a screenshot. I will try to do this again next week with one of my new kits.
