Also I'm still having a long pause after my computer posts and before windows starts to load. I checked the boot log but in my inexperience was not able to solve anything; maybe someone here can help me out.

there was an option in one of the bios versions, maybe still there? - to write the bios settings to a file - I couldn't get it to work but I didn't very very hard.
