Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
Thanks, what is a good range to try for 1.34-1.40v NB? I think my board might be damaged or dying, nothing I can do to get OCCT RAM test to pass above 460FSB. I have revision A2 board and am thinking about getting a new one hopefully revision A3 or getting a UD3P but I am not sure if my cooler will fit the UD3P. My Q9650 is running 4.2ghz at 1.34vcore but my damn board won't pass the RAM/NB test, and I am pretty sure my ram is fine since it was passing before with my Q6700.
Also, does anyone know if I should be using Performance mode, I really would like to know the differences between Optimized and Performance.

Hooa nice whit new bios.
Changelog of 1805 -> Update the thermal diode checking rule of CPU temperature.
Have anyone tested it?

yes
Any difference between previous BIOSes (1406/1702) and this one (1805)?
After short test, i didnt notice any when switched to it from 1406 (same settings)
Temps/voltages reported by software were the same. Maybe that change is just for some specific CPUs or should be tested more in-depth.

That sounds good, I will test it tonight. What about temperatures with same Vcore?

Leeghoodfd you are the man, the NB GTL was exactly what was holding me back as far as FSB overclocking was concerned. The NB is high compared to what I have seen here but it needs it. The only thing that worries me is the FSB Termination Voltage which had to be bumped up also because I was getting random reboot's. Now I find myself struggling to keep the CPU stable at 4.2 and up, haven't tried lower. I had it up to 4.35 GHZ stable at 1.35625 bios for weeks, when I up the fsb no matter what volatge I throw at it it crashes after a few minutes in Orthos or OCCT. The funny thing is I can boot into Windows at almost any voltage I want, surf the intermet and play a bit of css. Any ideas where to go from here ?? I will try to mess with the CPU GTL's but that's alot of work currently I set them at .635-.675 as a starting point. Here is the bios as we speak.

is 600 fsb possible with p5q dlx & e8500 E0. my 24/7 setting 446x9.5=~4.23 i want it 600x7 but which settings or not? thanx a lot
I would say "yes it is possible", but not without alot of trial and error. The NB and Cpu voltage and FSB term. is very picky and the slighest error on your part will hang the comp. I have a board that seems to need alot of NB volts to be stable, although I got her stable now theres something still off. I am still tweaking.

CPU Voltage: 1.35625V I think this is rock solid, still testing.
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2): .635 Seems to be working ok right now.
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3): .675 Still testing with the Gtl's.
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.62 - This allowed the Cpu to breathe.
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.30 - Not sure if this is this more for the Ram or CPU, but 1.30V seems to be required (atm).
DRAM Voltage: 1.92 -
NB Voltage: 1.36-1.40 - Currently 1.40V Ran the heavy duty mem checker again in Vista (4 passes), seems ok. 1.36 also seemed ok then started crashing.
NB GTL Reference: .605 - Without this I couldn't even boot into Windows at anything above 465 fsb.

I am currently using the latest 1805 bios and found that the voltages are all over the place, either that or I need to change the batteries on my multi meter. If anyone can enlighten me on the FSB Termination voltage and CPU margin enhacement Level I would appreciate it.

Hi, I have ASUS P5Q Deluxe and I have read that ASUS advice that the new Bios 1805 will fix the termal sensors of the motherboard. I have already flashed my Bios with new one but I still have a problem with my Core 3 and Core 4 on my Q9550. The promblem is: it doesn`t matter if my PC is overclocked or default all the programs which indicates the CPU temp shows that the 3rd and the 4th cores have 39C and the temp doesn`t move down.![]()
Thank you in advance!
Pls give me advice: do I need to wait for another Bios, do I need to change my CPU or do I need to change the motherboard?

Sorry, I can't say where could be the problem...
Core 3 and 4 are fixed at 39°C, but I see strange temperatures also with cores 1 and 2; The first core show the same min and max temp of 34°C while the second core is much more fresh with a min/max of 18/23°C.
My opinion is that the BIOS is not the problem, but it's only my opinion, my perplexity is more related to the CPU, perhaps the thermal diode is malfunctioning...
Hope someone cuold give more help.
Yes, the usual problem of the sensors, I knew...
It is time that Intel adjust this matter, it is since 45nm processor came out that we hear this story of the bugged sensors.
Ciao![]()
Martin,
Impressive clock. An improvement with BIOS 1805 indeed!
What cooling do you have there?

ned 1 there can test the FSB volt setned xtream volt set 1.56
voltset to the fsb
4.4GHZ volt to fsb 1.36v
4.5GHZ fsb ..........1.52v
4.6GHZ fsb ..........1.56v
bios 1805 seem to work great.
now i can drop vcore for one-two steps down and get rock stable 4ghz oc with max temp 1-2'c lower
still testing, but definitely 1805 is much better then 1702
cant wait for ket's mBios version.
I confirm that with the new Bios lower VCore.
