Sangrak is super luckly to have 8GB stable at 1.42 NB it seems.

Neo, I used your 2000 settings for some new 8GB tests @ 1780 linked and Synced and I actually found a decent increase in stability. Prime95 blend held on for 4 tests passed before failing on one core. That's pretty good considering all previous attemps fail before test 1 can complete. I still feel it's possible to get 8GB stable just a question of how much volts is it going to take and where.

I have a hard time believing that luck is the main factor of getting 8GB to link and sync with 1.42-44v. Must have something to do with having your RAID array, since that's the main difference between our set up.

Here's a 1 hour Prime run @ 1800. Same settings as my 1780. I'll try to bump it up more when I have the time.

    Hey guys

Cant you run cas 7 on those patriots if there only running 1800mgz ? seem like they should cas 7 easy, heck if your going to lose 200mgz, might as well get better timings. My crucials do cas 7 easy at 1800mgz. Trigger i think you might have to compromise, maybe get you quad to 3.8, 3.9, and get your memory to 1900mgz so your sort of losing a little off both ends. Have you tried running unlinked at all ?. Another thing, i wish you guys would post your bios setting in a template, makes it easier to see whats going on.

Here Trigger try these settings, should be very close to working, and gets you pretty solid. I find it hard to believe that he is running 4 gigs at 1800mgz with only 1.42, very hard to believe. I know on my 2 gig kit 2000mgz linked, if i drop down one notch in nbv, it will not run period, i cant get my 2000mgz linked without at least 1.54 1.56 nbv.

The setting of NBGTL -0.08mV, is what I needed for my particular chipset with that 8Gb Patriot kit with the QX9770 at 450x9 linked/sync. I started messing with NBGTL after finding out that more vNB did not do the trick. You will have to fine tune yours after finding out what vNB you require for your board.

I totally assume that you are watercooling your chipset right? Every 790i chipset can vary between boards & errors can start to appear 58-60-65-68 Cº just because of the heat, although most S2E's do fine even at 68 Cº.

I am water cooling(NB 48c idle), thanks to all you guys for the tips. I'm still trying to get stable with 8GB. Playing with NB gtl now.

Are we having fun yet Trigger , very tough board to overclock, but that makes it a challenge, and when you finally get there, you will be one happy dude, i posted some settings for 1900 one page back, you could try them, hope you get that thing stable. Dont forget trigger, you havent even touched the cpu gtl voltages yet, you may need to.

    Yeah, with 4x1Gb Crucial I only needed 1.44Nb at 2000, It's only 4Gb.

8Gb at 2000 is a bit more difficult but very possible
