ok so i finally was able to lower the vcore.
Bios F6a
200*21 = 4.2GHz
x36, x17, x8
vcore 1.40
qpi/vtt 1.38
cpu pll 1.88
ddr3 1.66
qpi pll 1.14
HT off
All energy saver functions off
idle temp 38-42 load temp 55-60
TRUE is working like a dream i have a push pull going, TRUE is very good at controlling temps under load, better than it is at idle, i guess it works more efficiently due to higher heat.

I'm considering putting together my i7 920 - FPO/BATCH # 3841A 437
I'm a believer in Gigabyte after being an Asus sorta Loyalist. I really thought they made quality boards until reading a few posts in the Maximus II Formula thread, which is what I'm running my Q9650 on(450fsb tops with it so far) I'm actually considering a new UD3R board besides a motherboard for my i7 - Now, from the track record.... how does this UD5 board hold up to its' UD3R 775 siblings legacy?
nice work!! yeah, at load the liquid in the heat pipes evaporates more vigorously thus increasing the evap and condensation effect and cooling a lot more efficiently. The TRUE is one kick ass air cooler.. I kind of wish I had held out to pick one up but they were so out of stock when I built my machine, so I got the CM V8 instead.. which has turned out to be a very good cooler also, but you can't do the push-pull fan trick with it.. well, unless you want to use a lot of zip ties.![]()

Hi folks,
How do you select the x21 multiplier manually on the Extreme?
Gigabyte EX58 Extreme F6h.
i7 920 @ 4 Ghz, 19x210 1.392V idle, 1.376 load (CPUZ), VTT 1.34V (Bios), HT off (39C idle, 78C prime95), 3838A649.
Termalright 120 Ultra.
12Gb Corsair XMS 1600 ( CPUZ CM3X2G1600C9, Mfr TR3X6G1600C9) @1680Mhz 1.64V 10/10/10/26.
BFG GTX 285 OC.
Enermax Liberty 620.
Thanks for that. I just wondered because I has a Biostar board before this one where x21 could be selected on th 920 as long as Turbo was off.

Yarr!!!
Anyone know why The 4x slot and the bottom 16x slot are Orange/Peach colored?
I looked through the manual and I seen nothing about it.
I'm assuming there is a reason behind this.
82 pages!!! I would love to look through every single one of them, but for a question that not that important, I'd rather ask... And add to the pages!

awsome cooling SteveRo, now im finding technut36 TRUE too good to be true after seen your BoreasOriginally Posted by Envy
impressive! your idle to load temp are as good as SteveRo GTZ Feser 480 with 4x ultra kaze if not better.
TRUE idle temp 38-42 load temp 55-60 with higher clock - voltage
Boreas idle temp 21-26 load temp 53-56
almost the same cooling power?
so google a bit to know a little more about TRUE+i7 didnt find anything near this, definitely the most extreme TRUE ive see.

so whats the magic?
i understand he have HT off, but just take a look at your screen shot you running at lower qpi, clock, much lower vcore and lower idle temp HT off yet you hit 70º at full load "not saying thats bad at all" but thats 10~15ºc higher than technut, not even couting idle difference.
you find hes temp normal?
4.2Ghz
vcore 1.40
qpi/vtt 1.38
HT off
All energy saver functions off
idle temp 38-42 load temp 55-60
what kind of fan you using technut? what kind of application you running to get load temp?
Subscribed--and yes I've read all 82 pages (call me stubborn). I've got a summary of the interesting tidbits (interesting to me of course) if anyone wants it.
