dang... time to upgrade?!!
Congrats guys. That's a nice looking board. I know you must be proud of that, and EVGA is a great company. I already have an i7 System, but that is one spectacular piece of hardware. It not only looks great, it also looks to be one hell of an OC'er too!
Man, I tell 'ya, it never ceases to amaze me at the quality stuff that is coming out, and the attention to detail that is put into it. The stuff we have for this platform is truly amazing. Way to go Shamino and the whole EVGA Team! Looking forward to seeing more numbers and the launch of this board.
Some day, that board will be mine...
My X38 Maximus, is looking at it's replacement unit.
It also will be the first SLI mobo that I have ever owned...
Good job EVGA!!
I think the Red and Black is hot too!

Finally a release date. This is what i have been waiting to complete my new i7 pc. I just hope it will justify the price tag over the normal evga x58 with its OC ability.

You know what I would like to see some board manufacturers do.
Use right angle board mount 10/9way (usb/fw) and 20/8way (spk, pwr, rst, led) male connectors at the bottom of the board.
Right now as is if we are using the bottom PCIE slot with a double height card it either blocks them or forces you to slightly bend the pins to make them fit properly, on top of that they need to be fit before the GPU goes in a lot of the time. For the extra $0.50c or so each they cost, you'd think after spending all that money on high tech features something this simple much like Right Angled Board Mount SATA connectors were in the beginning, would be so obvious.
Thats my rant. I wouldn't want to have to think that after spending nearly $500usd on a board they can't add something simple and cheap like that to make the lack of space more convenient.

A $450US 'extreme overclocker' board, and there's no inclusion of a chipset waterblock? We have to use that giant ugly heatsink?
I just don't get it..

Its not AS high heat producing, but it still is producing heat.. and a giant heatsink for someone whose is going to watercool like crazy, is counter productive. First, the case is gonna need some good airflow in that area, which is not necessary when you watercool. So now you might need to worry about how to get airflow around that monstrosity.

Even if it came with a watercooling block, the majority of us would take it off and put one of our own choosing on it anyway right?
If it was a nice copper block that was well designed there would be no need to replace with an aftermarket.

Definitely sexy looking but Asus's true 16X tri-sli motherboard (had an nf200 chip also) was actually slower than the x58 w/o an nforce chip.
Im sure itll be a great performer.

God, am dying to know the PCI-E memory paths, wanna know which ones are the true x16 slots.
Anyone know anything about its onboard sound? Wondering if it has DDL or DTS or will it require a soundcard for surround sound from a digital output?

Time to start saving up.

OMG!! Why o why did I come into this thread after 4 months of self imposed exile from XS(my wallet was crying out to me). Makes me want to sell my RE and QX9650 and jump on the i7 bandwagon.Already have crapload of stuff sitting in my shelf ready to be sold. Must...simply...resist.
