Are those PCI-E 16x slots capable of running something other than a graphics card? AKA I wish to get a PCI-E x8 raid controller for my upcoming media database and I would like to run it in one of those slots if possible.

I already have a 4870x2 and I don't need more video card, and the most I would ever have is two graphics cards anyhow. I'm not much of a 3way SLI person :P So I could put that slot to good use.

Plus, I don't expect a 4.0ghz 24/7 anyhow. I will be happy with mid 3's. Will this board do what I need?

I think not. I tried to run my Terratec pci-e 1x tdt video capture in the bottom slot x16 and the system hangs loading windows, and the Terratec gets very hot to the touch
