yeah that would be sweet I might get some better ram chuck it in this rig do some damage and use these sticks in my upcoming build GA-MA790FXT-UD5P + AM3 3.0 black when it comes out then I can finnaly get into some amd quad core benching once I get my single stage retuned I want to throw it on my rampage and this E8600 for some action aswell

Please refer to EK-NB-ASUS-HP Chipset Waterblock's screw position and you may have an idea.

Cheers, that block fits the standard heatpipe assembly. Looking for the dimensions of the holes in the board itself though, not 100% sure if they are the same...

I had an idea a While back to make an Evap for a small single stage unit and make it modular using the fusion block as a reference for the screw holes just mount the evap onto the heatsink assembly and freeze you your entire board just a small single stage perhaps R290 as the gas something cost effective but man you would cool everything on the board but you would have to spend some extra time insulating lol

and loco I know the OP took this whole board appart and replaced with new heatsinks so he would def know I have yet to do so I hate all in one heatpipe design everything should be dedicated thats the best thing about some of DFI's board the come with beast cooling but sometimes the NB cooler isnt even on the board and the keep it simple to upgrade where it matters

Ozzfest, nice vcore - mine will be 1.55+ with LLC for 32M at 5.1G, but still cool probably....high vid A606 was lucky for me on air. Estimating i'll need 597-600x8.5 for 9 minutes. Less with a GTR or GTS kit.

never took the RE heatpipe off since NB temps etc have always been low, but my DFI LTX48 came with a twisted NB heatsink.....and no contact with the heatpipe

so hard to find here now, a shame for this board really, and my 32M....

A big part of my voltage issue is more so heat I can tell there is too much static migration at 1.48 volts, too much voltage makes everything unstable because this chip likes to be cool my temps are 60 at idle at like 4.9 or whatever running 1M takes it to like 72 73 now this is all on water tripple rad dedicated to the cpu only using fusion and D5 with modded top temps with TRUE lapped mounted modded and push pull were even worse thats why I got H20. Funny thing is my clocks at 5.0ghz+ were because the wind was blowing toward my window in my room I cracked it open the like 4c drop in ambient helped my ocing with same voltage this chip needs to be cold.

With my single stage hooked up with same voltages I imagine I could get a better validation like 5.2 and run SPI at 5.0 plus I would get some leeway in increasing voltages.

@ cheapseats my NB Idles at like 50 C or something with the air sink and asus fan equiped im thinking of tearing down the board replacing the heatsinks most importanlty the NB temps down

    some hot chip Ozz

i was lucky with my board cooling, NB load temps all < 40c since around october - keeping the heating off helps aswell but i had to sit in a sleeping bag for 5ghz runs

Its a damn hot chip man but im ok with that because I does pretty good voltages like 4.5 is 24/7 stable at 1.29 its the motherboard im going to work on cooling better that way when I hook up my Single Stage I wont have to worry I can crank the FSB I want to do 32m at 680+ FSB validation at 700 but I think that is really pushing it with X48 I havent heard of any 700FSB validations as of yet

Actually the highest FSB validations I've ever seen for this board was 710FSB...

Right now playing with VID 1.25v E8500 Q831A666 new batch...will try any higher FSB and see...

Yeah I have to agree that X48 is **mn hot chip. With stock heatpipe + Watercool UG (EK-NB-ASUS-HP) temps I got was 55C idle @ 1.64v BIOS

Now with BP BlackFreezer my idle temps still stay below 40C even @1.72v. After finished managing to cool the mosfet down w/ second WC loop will try to get some decent FSB testing~ stay tune~

here's alittle tips for you to cool the NB down a bit more: get a 8CM ran and blow directly towards the ROG led position to cool the NB mosfet down. What I've experianced was getting 4~6C cooler with this method. Good luck for you

hey Gullo92 have you tested both of the ram slots ?.. i've found that the blue ones are wayyy more stabil than the white ones and allow me to push over 650 fsb.. you might wanna try if that helps.. also i've noticed few things that you could try to get your quad core stable.. first your ppl voltage seems pretty high, i use 1.51v or 1.53v. secondly your NB voltage seems too high for only 475fsb maybe something around 1.5v or under that would be better in getting your system stable. and finally put your DRAM Skew Control voltage/DDR3 ChannelA/B Vref on auto settings also fiddling around with the rams Performance level might help. hope this helps

Really? maybe I should try that out as I'm currently playing with my E8500...Q9650 is dead without warning...
But my Ballistix CL9-2000 (D9GTS) doesn't like blue slot. Just stock freq. and voltage doesn't stable at all, while white slots are doing just fine.

yeah i've noticed the same thing. i have a pair of G.skill sticks that just hate the blue slots too.. so it clearly depends on the ram whats being used

i test in slot blue and white but the system are unstable with qx9770 only the system are stable but with q9550 are unstable.

    @ Solarfall

Hi Solarfall i think the settings Gullo posted yesterday are just rob2k's settings.
Rob gave them a while ago with advice but it's not clear if the advice was followed

Gullo, i still don't know what happened, but after your PM, i sent you some simple tests to try first for your memory stability/vDIMM, and to find vCore with different multis. Some other general tips as well but it's all i could do with no quad.... i did try

can you say if you have tested these, or didn't you receive my PM ?

Also, i thought 450FSB was your highest stable clock. are you ok now at 475FSB using 9770 ? i'm confused

Hey is that your G-Skill is HZ series?

    @Gullo92

I'm sorry that I can't help right now becuase my Q9650 just went dead. I think you should try 450 FSB and see if it's stable first, then go up for 475, use relax timing for ram like 8-8-8-24, Transection booster @ 9, and do some more testing like Intel Burn Test and see if you can get the same result in every test. It would take time but just be patient.
