First off, I look forward to seeing the price on the Cell Shocks

Second, I use 8GB without a pagefile and in any games that load between zones or areas, it is awesome. My zone times with pagefile off, while multi boxing EQ Emulator or other games, are less than 1/4 of what they were. I have hit the 90% mark of RAM used and get the system warning to turn pagefile on, even with 8GB.

8GB isn't overkill if you'll make use of it

see now if i was using the 9600's here,then id be at ddr1212 pl8 with 8GB's and id be rocking solid with decent volts and would "of course" be one happy camper.
but im not. its just 8800's and its just "ok".

Ok heres my current micron kit: Crucial ballistix tracer 8500's which are cabable of running cl 5 @ 670mhz @ 2.4v and 600 @ cl4 @ 2.225v

buying two kits more
Crucial ballistix 6400 kit which has micron chips, thought not so good oc'rs
And axeram pc 9600 kit which has micron chips, cabable of running 600 @ cl 4

Anyways, that's exactly the reason I don't mess with EBay. I've never been screwed before but there are just so many dishonest sellers as well as EBays' policies that I feel encourage it. Sales and their little commission is more important. Couple that with Paypal's lack of outside oversight and the odds are you will get screwed eventually.

i had my hands on a few used sets of those and to be honest they were all deffective and 1 brand new set that couldnt do 1200 with even 2.35v so i returned it

There are some D9 G.Skill 6400 HZ, Kingston HyperX 8500 and Corsair Dominator 6400 for cheap around the net. Newegg has the Dominator 6400's for like $25 after $40 mail-in-rebate but just look at all the recent reviews, not good. I'm assuming that's where you got them from. Most are claiming DOA and Newegg's policy on RAM has changed. 30 day replacement only. After that you deal with Corsair and are sure to get revision 5.1 or something. 6/10 reviews on the first page alone are saying junk. If you can actually get the rebate then $25 might nor be too much of a gamble.

That's why I went ahead and ordered the Team Xtreem 9600 D9GKX for a bit of a premium. They have a lifetime warranty and are still selling them. You just have to work a bit to get an RMA if they fail.

these are the 1066's i got them off ebay. and if they die they die. i didnt pay awhole lot for them in the first place

Corsair D9's have never been anything special. Back in the day Crucial, TeamGroup and CellShock were way better than them, and they still are.

i wonder what kinda handpickin was done cause i got my hands on 2 brand new sets of rev 1.2 for 40$ and i couldnt hit 1200 with 2.35v they went right back to the store
even my kingston value can do that

Yeah I'm in the process of organising a refund. If he doesn't give me my money back, Paypal will.

In the meantime, my other Cell Shock 8000 C4 kit has started working flawlessly - I no longer get the "C1" error code with a cold boot. I decided to do some benching at 2.3v to see how high I could get it. 1200 4-4-4 didn't happen, but I got 1100 4-4-4-12 and 1000 4-3-3-8.

It took some drilling to get the job done, but my Cellshock D9GKX sticks are finally free of their heatspreaders (2 screws on each were proper jammed in... needed the drill to get through the screw head so the spreaders would just pop off ) Hoping to get some real results with these sticks now, they stay MUCH cooler with the spreaders off with just my XTC memory cooler over them.

Why are your Copy and Write results so crappy? would of thought they would of been much better than that with those settings..

That's something I noticed too. I thought maybe it was this chipset but I saw a post by someone else with a 680i and their write and copies were not nearly as low. I'll have to play with it a bit.

any suggestions on tweaking those down 4-3-3-8 was a no go as was CL3 tested up to 3.5v cpu is getting very close to its max
