Didn't fell any instability due tests?

My Kill-a-watt readings when benching with a i7 965 @ 4.3 GHz and 2 HD4870x2s Crossfired at 852/980 Peak at 840 watts during Vantage and 3DMark06.

I believe the entire system does not even draw close to 650watts, so 750watts still has plenty of headroom.

Hmm impressive, i was struggeling to get my system stable with 2900XTX2 and QX9650 plugged onto 850w psu. Guess i will have to re-aducate myself on current power draws

A quality PSU can also occasionally draw more current than it is rated for That's the difference between high and low quality, low quality will blow up before it even reaches it's rated power rating

This information I have from Polish part of Intel and they have it from much higher part of company.

And sorry, if someone from Intel telling and showing me something about 975 Extreme and second person from that company telling me that CPU will not exist, what can I think about Intel?

For the moment, the product group does not want to give time line on the release of the D stepping, I am not even sure that it will be called 975.

didn't check but would make sense. Only thing I remember was that stock vcore and 1.48v appeared to draw only slightly more at idle.

Kind of surprised that the stock speed wasn't set to 3.6. That doesn't matter much to us, really, but I'm thinking of the image to a larger audience. I7's @ 2.93, 3.2 and 3.6 would be a more fitting lineup for a "premium" chip series.

Stock speeds don't mean much to our segment anyways. I think they probably don't go any higher because of heat output. They need to make sure the chips will work at stock in various scenarios, including a dust filled computer in the middle of the desert.
