For those of you running sossaman rigs who want to pin mod their CPU's to 200FSB take a look at this from our very own forum: Link here

I own a couple of socket M (479) motherboards so I am very interested in this particular tech.

I just wonder if one of these sossamans will go into an AOpen i975xa-ydg motherboard! If they can I may have to set a WR!

So they have the same pin layout as socket M (479) Yonahs/Merons, but have a different pinout?

Did Intel do this to prevent dual Yonah/Meron setups? Or do the sossamans have a particular code that allow SMP? I mean they aren't even 64bit capable!

Crazy weird CPU's these sossamans! If I could get some for cheap here in the UK put me down for a dual sossaman setup on that cheap ass $19 Intel board you all have!

I don't know why they did it but yes, same socket put different pinout.
A shame.. Think of a couple top Meroms in one of these boards.
ibby is getting two boards from me but I bought three.
If you want one of those I could send him the three and you two can work out shipping one to you.
    He's also in the UK..
They just shipped from california today so you have a few days to think about this and talk with him.

The actuall brackets supplied with the board are not wrong.

they are made for case stand offs.

    Can you tell me,
Does the board post with one cpu ?

or do both need to be plugged in ?

no, two cpu's needed to post OR there is a dummy available, like they used to need with the old dual P3 xeons..

Trust me, the easiest one you ever worked on..
cake as we say here..white cake and plenty of room even in a case..and you can test without fans..
    at 100% load and no fans it's 68C.. With a 80mm cheapo fan it's 34c..
    Idles app 21c in a 72F room..

You don't want to close it all up in a case without fans though. The first time I did that my CPUs were at 100C

Placed a 120mm 700rpm fan over it and they're now at 40Cs loaded.
    Main rig:
    CPU: I7 920C0 @ 3.6Ghz (180*20)
    Mobo: DFI UT X58 T3eH8
    RAM: 12GB OCZ DDR3-1600 Platinum
    GPU/LCD: GeForce GTX280 + GeForce 8600GTS (Quad LCDs)
    Intel X25-M G2 80GB, 12TB storage
    PSU/Case: Corsair AX850, Silverstone TJ07
