I see, thanks for the advice. I have to grow into it again a bit. I haven't touched AMD since my Opteron 146.

Here she is at 2.6GHz NB clock though, haven't touched the voltages yet. I don't plan to untill i strap on the waterblock.

Those are very decent clocks on stock volts. considering you're running Vista x64.

My chip is doing 3.6GHz OCCT 1h stable, but with less on NB though. I can get 2.4GHz NB on stock volts..

What about under 16s with Air in super pi1m with Phenom II 940BE
I like my True Black its work good with slow 1200rpm fans to

It looks like I'm fifth in hwbot on air with that Pi score:

And second with this validation: 4351.24MHz @1.536V.

No clue, no accurate way to measure it, multimeter/ K type probe on heatpipe as close as I can get to center of IHS says 23-24C.

With 940 BE my software temps are 10-15C higher with this cpu my ambients were 22 to 23C and cpu reported 16C via AOD, gigabyte easytune is also far fetched.

Eh why bother, I'll just stick it under DI/LN2 and temps wont be a concern.

Well, I've had a couple days to play with this new 940 (0852 BPFW) and I'm actually amazed at how different it is compared to the one in my sig.

The strangest thing is the CPU voltage (Stuen4y )... My week 50 loves volts and actually OC's about 100mhz better than this one, but it needs ~1.57 to run stable @ 3.85.

This chip won't even post with voltage higher than 1.5 in bios and I'm pretty sure with a little more patience it will do 3.7+ with v's well under 1.475.

The IMC is the same way, both seem to top out around 2700, but the 0850 needs 1.3v to get there and the 0852 will do it on 1.25v (more v's don't seem to help much on either chip)...

Needless to say, I still have alot of tinkering to do. I just found the huge voltage differences kind of odd.

Has anyone else with 2 940's noticed this big of a difference or am I the only one goofy enough to buy another one when I had a decent clocker to begin with...

When/If I get tired of running water I get the feeling the week 52 would be the better chip. It certainly runs alot cooler overall.

I'm waiting for week 01 chips to spin out, 01 has always been good to me. I could let people in on a secret as to why but I don't feel like dealing with disbelievers as I did in the stepping thread.....

    Yeah *chew, please do tell..

They had 5 "0901"'s at Microcenter when I bought this chip, but I passed because the serial numbers were in the 903xx's...

Rather simple, all machines wear out with time and need to be recalibrated, retooled etc etc. This is usually done like clockwork based on a maintenance schedule.......Do the math.

I am seriously having issues with my Northbridge When it goes over 2100mhz it doesn't like me at all and poof its unstable no matter how much voltage i press into it. Abit of a dissapointment, considering selling this CPU and getting an x3 720BE or something instead
