    Anyone with an HD 4830?

Just curious, have anyone tried flashing their HD 4830 with an HD 4850 BIOS?

Maybe it's a better chance with the HIS cards?

Seems there is no chance! I heard SP enabler is separate software that will modify BIOS ... but still not sure

Even without modding the bios these cards are not bad in crossfire, and dirt cheap.

I started working on the bios that came on my Asus EAH4830 with RBE this evening. The stock voltage is 1.082v. I found that I get higher stable clocks an about 10w extra power draw at the wall (measured as 302w @ 1.082v/700Mhz vs 312w @ 1.15av/700Mhz) under furmark if I increase the voltage to the maximum of 1.158v. That little bump brings my 3dmark06 passable core clock up from 700Mhz to 740Mhz. I see 86C and artifacts every few seconds under furmark at that clock and voltage, but I'm still on the stock cooler. I also have to turn my ram clock down to 1040 from 1060 to get through 3dmark06 at 740 without lots of artifacts and an eventual crash. I'll probably slap one of my Accelero S1's and some swiftech ramsinks on it tomorrow if I have a chance. Hopefully that will get me a bit further. Anyone have any ideas on getting past the max voltage that RBE lists, or am I going to need a hardmod?

I just noticed that I can type numbers into the fields where the voltage drop-downs are. I'll give that a try tomorrow.

I just get a blank screen when I push past 1.158v in the bios. :-/ Back to the drawing board on that one...

Here's what I'm getting so far at 750/1080 with the Accelero S1 installed:

Anyone else have better luck with theirs? I dropped my idle clock to 200mhz and the idle voltage to .892v. Those two changes cut 10W off of my PC's power consumption at idle (as measured by a kill-a-watt).

Yikes. That card is quite a clocker indeed! Is the card still running at that clock/voltage? What were you able to run without a vmod?

    Hi,
I just got MSI HD4830 OC 512MB card, did a pencil mod getting 800/2280. Now I want to unlock the rest of SP. I was thinkink about flashing it with MSI HD4850 BIOS. They look the same.

    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=pr...0&prod_no=1665
Only the cooler has a different colour, but I didnt manage to find any other difference. I dont wanna destroy my card though so I am asking first. Has anybody tried this yet? Is it even theoretically possible? Which BIOS shuld I use from these?
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/i...-E&memSize=512 (I think the newest one).

    Any help appreciated.
